IT assistant support towards the implementation of its activities. **TASKS AND EXPECTED OUTPUTS** ------------------------------ Under the overall authority of the Director of the Office, and direct supervision of the Administrative Officer, the core activities of the incumbent will perform the following duties: • Manage the office LAN, conduct a general check-up of all system components, perform hardware troubleshooting, prepare and distribute user documentation and provide general user technical support. • Operate PC/LAN resources, including software on servers and workstations. Perform periodic system backup and assist staff to carry out backup according to office guidelines. • Management, administration, and documentation of networks connection and communication. Maintain the fax, telephone system, access control, CCTV monitoring system, photocopy machines, and other equipment and perform minor repairs when necessary. • Maintain any telephone or/and video conference equipment and assist staff in conducting the conference. • Maintain office servers in terms of security, proxy, filling system, and all related activities. • Maintain close coordination with UNESCO HQ for Intranet, internet link, and any other technical matters related to UNESCO Doha Office. • Provide to the Office website management, of office social media network, update and maintain the Doha office shared folders and databases networks • Provide user support and training on commonly used applications software and maintain up-dated books/manuals and hardware databases related to the office automation. • Additional activities that may be required including in the administration to ensure the success of the work team. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- **Education:** Completed secondary, technical and/or vocational education. IT LAN training/certificate would be an advantage. **Work experience:** A minimum of Four (4) years of relevant work experience Experience in IT Systems administration and hardware support at national and/or international organisation. **Skills/Competencies:** • Excellent interpersonal and communication (Oral and writing) skills. • Integrity, reliability and sense of commitment in the execution of duties. • Professionalism • Excellent IT skills with proficiency in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) • Ability to work as part of a team and to provide quality and timely support and services • Flexibility to adjust work schedules and priorities. • Capacity to work effectively under pressure. • Ability to work in diverse multi-cultural settings with sensitivity to the local context **Languages:** • Fluency in English (written & verbal) is required.
