This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

The Cybersecurity Analyst will study the OIOS Audit report, prepare a comprehensive plan to implement the audit recommendations, and assist in implementing the audit recommendations within the given time.

Under the supervision of the Associate Information Systems Officer, the UN Volunteer is responsible to perform the below functions:

  1. Monitoring networks, systems and applications for security threats and vulnerabilities.
  2. Responding to cybersecurity incidents, such as malware infections or phishing attacks.
  3. Analyzing cybersecurity alerts and determining the appropriate response.
  4. Conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses in the organization's security posture.
  5. Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  6. Collaborating with other IT professionals, such as network administrators, system administrators, and software developers to ensure a coordinated approach to cybersecurity.
  7. Assisting with incident response planning and testing to ensure the organization is prepared for cybersecurity incidents.
  8. Assisting with the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies, technical procedures, and guidelines
  9. Assisting with the identification and assessment of risks and implementing risk management processes and procedures.
  10. Supporting compliance with enterprise cybersecurity policies, relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  11. Assisting with the preparation of reports on governance, risk, and compliance issues for senior management.
  12. Collaborating with other units and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to governance, risk, and compliance.
  13. Participating in continuous improvement efforts to enhance the organization's governance, risk, and compliance practices.
  14. Participating in risk assessments and internal audits to identify areas of non-compliance or potential risks.
  15. Assisting with the development and implementation of BCP and DR plans to ensure the organization is prepared for potential disasters or disruptions.
  16. Developing and documenting procedures for responding to disasters or disruptions.
  17. Testing and evaluating BCP and DR plans to ensure they are effective and up-to-date.
  18. Monitoring and reporting on compliance with policies and procedures, including tracking incidents of non-compliance and following up with appropriate parties.
  19. Staying up-to-date on changes in enterprise cybersecurity policies, laws, regulations, and industry standards related to governance, risk, and compliance.
  20. Assisting with the development and implementation of cybersecurity training programs to promote compliance and risk management awareness.
  21. Participating in security awareness training and promoting a culture of cybersecurity within the organization.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Lebanon National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.

Conditions of Service for national UN Volunteers

The contract lasts for the period indicated above with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment. The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents - except for UN Community Volunteers), as well as final repatriation (if applicable). Furthermore, in non-family duty stations that belong to hardship categories D or E, as classified by the ICSC, a Well-Being Differential (WBD) will be provided monthly.
