This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

The UN Volunteer provides IT and database analysis and monitoring assistance with accuracy and consistency of work. The UN Volunteer works in close collaboration with the humanitarian programme staff as required exchanging information and supporting programme delivery.

Under the direct supervision of IT Associate, the national UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Information Technology (IT)

Supports Implementation of ICT management systems and strategies, focusing on achievement of the following results:

• Compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, in accordance with the UNFPA guidelines and procedures for the CO Technology environment. • Support to the use of Virtual meeting rooms in Country office for improved business results and improved client services.

Ensure effective Functioning of the co hardware and Software Packages, focusing on achievement of the following results:

• Performance of specific technical functions, including changing of hardware electronic components of Virtual Meeting Rooms (VC Equipment, Public Address system, wiring, power sources, etc.) and routine repairs. • Response to the need of meetings rooms reservation and access.

Provide Administrative support, focusing on Achievement of the following results:

• Maintenance of an up to date Inventory of software and hardware • Provide assistance in Disposal of ICT hardware through obsolescence plan • Provision of Technical support to key events in Meeting Rooms. • Arrange and maintenance of office infrastructure, technology and equipment

Ensure Facilitation of Knowledge Building and knowledge Sharing in the CO, focusing on achievement of the following Results:

• Participation and assistance in the organization digital document management system. • Any other task assigned by supervisor

Humanitarian Programme related tasks:

• Prepare the distribution plan for the Humanitarian inventory • Coordinate with Logistics focal person for the R&IR for local and PSB Procurement • Prepare the Inventory Delivery Slips for each transaction • Follow-up with each budget holder for the signature of delivery slips • Prepare Programme Supply Distribution Agreement for the non-IPs for the transfer of Inventory • Record the Delivery Slips and PSDA in Shipment Tracker • Do the last mile assurance for the inventory transferred to IPs

3 years of relevant working experience, including network administration, management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunications facilities, knowledge of Windows-based packages/applications.

In addition, expertise in Statistical Data Analysis using MS Excel and any other relevant tool is desirable.

As this is a national UNV assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.

UNV Field Unit will help you open a Pak rupee bank account with Standard Chartered Bank or any other local bank at your duty station.

Assignment remarks: This is a national UNV assignment and a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 88,483 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.
