• The mission of WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme (The Programme) is to help countries, and to coordinate international action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, rapidly respond to, and recover from outbreaks and emergencies; • As an active WHO team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to WHO and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: • The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring and formal on-the-job training when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counterparts, including Implementing Partners (IPs); • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment; • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed. • • The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring and formal on-the-job training, when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counter-parts, including Implementing Partners (IPs); • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development dur-ing the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed • reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed

Under the supervision of the ICT Manager, and overall supervision of the Operations Officer, the UN volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Install and maintain all IT equipment, including computers, workstations connected to the Local Area Network (LAN), printers and computer peripherals; • Assist in the installation and administration of LAN systems, including installation of hardware and software, user access to shared resources and information systems, and data security; • Assist in the organization and running of virtual meetings and conference rooms. • Carry out the configuration of the CPU before issuance to the users, setup of user LAN account, access to shared resources and information systems. • Provide technical and client-oriented operational support to users; using myservice incident management system. • Contribute to Problem Management and the Knowledgebase e.g. by assisting in creating materials to expedite service request fulfilments/incident resolutions, training manuals; • Provide IT technical support as required by the national side in the context of covid19 response and others • Ensure all support tasks are reported in the WHO support platform (myservice). • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the WHO Resident Representative and Global Service Desk • Contribute to digital transformation policies • Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.];

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:

• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; • Provide annual and end of assignment self- reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers; • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

• At least 2 years working experience in the delivery of ICT services and provision of client support; • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft and Cisco Technologies is desired; • Possession of either MSCE/CCNA/MCSA qualifications are an asset.

The assignment will take place in the nation’s capital, Brazzaville, a family duty station (Hardship classification A) with missions to the region. Brazzaville is a liveable city. The spontaneous reception and hospitality of the Congolese is among the characteristic features of this Central African country. The living conditions in Brazzaville are good, as well as the access to health services. The yellow fever vaccine is compulsory and vaccination cards should be presented at the entrance. Vaccinations against Meningococcal Meningitis and Hepatitis A and B are also recommended. The basic drugs are available in pharmacies but it is recommended to bring specific prescription drugs. According to RGPH 2016 official estimates, the population of Brazzaville metropolitan area reaches over 1.696 million people. The total population of CONGO is 5.518.000 inhabitants (RGPH 2016). Brazzaville is located on UTC/ GMT+1. Brazzaville has a tropical climate you alternate four seasons, 2 rainy seasons and 2 dry seasons.
