Provide interpretation and translation services between English and Russian.
You have:
- Higher education in linguistics, public policy, economics or any other related field.
- At least 3 years of work experience in translation and interpretation services (English-Russian-English) in taxation, international taxation, tax legislation, mining and other related areas.
- Fluent knowledge of Russian language is obligatory.
- Fluent knowledge of English language is obligatory.
- Knowledge of the Kazakh language is preferable.

Background
Tax & Tax Inspectors without Borders (TIWB) is announcing a competitive bidding for individuals for the position of Interpreter & Translator (English – Russian-English).

Duty station: Home based.

- A duly completed and signed Letter of Confirmation of Interest and Availability using the template provided by UNDP;
- Financial Proposal that indicates the all-inclusive fixed total contract price, supported by a breakdown of costs, as per template provided. If an Offeror is employed by an organization/company/institution, and he/she expects his/her employer to charge a management fee in the process of releasing him/her to UNDP under Reimbursable Loan Agreement (RLA), the Offeror must indicate at this point, and ensure that all such costs are duly incorporated in the financial proposal submitted to UNDP;
- Personal CV, indicating all past experience from similar projects, as well as the contact details (email and telephone number) of the Candidate, copies of diplomas (certificates if available);
- At least three samples of translation along with reference contacts to qualify for translators’ roster;

Duties and Responsibilities
The work will be carried out remotely, with possible onsite meetings at the State Revenue Service (to be agreed in advance- travel to Nur Sultan (if applicable): 2 missions*5 days each):
- Written translation – up to 198,000 words (550 pages, 360 words per page/ 2100 characters with no spaces)
- Slides

- Consecutive interpretation – up to 270 hours
- meetings between the tax audit expert and the SRC
- functional analysis interviews in audit cases
- other meetings as required
- Simultaneous interpretation – up to 270 hours
- Official meetings between TIWB and SRC
- Workshops and conferences for the purposes of the Programme

Competencies
- Good writing skills;
- Computer skills (especially with Microsoft Office applications), Zoom and other online applications and the ability to use information technology as a tool and resource;
- At least three samples of translation along with reference contacts to qualify for translators’ roster
- Fluent knowledge of Russian language is obligatory;
- Fluent knowledge of English language is obligatory;
Knowledge of the Kazakh language is preferable.
Required Skills and Experience
I. Academic Qualifications:
- Higher education in linguistics, public policy, economics or any other related field;
II. Years of experience:
- At least 3 years of work experience in translation and interpretation services (Eng-Rus-Eng) in taxation, international taxation, tax legislation, mining and other related area;
- Previous professional experience in international assistance projects focusing on fiscal policy/taxation or related area, is desirable
