How can you make a difference?

UNICEF offers the opportunity for interns, talented university students, to gain valuable professional experience while being exposed to UNICEF's work. At the same time, UNICEF benefits from working with interns as they are a significant asset, providing updated academic knowledge, technical know-how and other valuable skills to the organization.

The purpose of internship is to help ICT (Information and Communications Technology) team in day-to-day activities and mostly focused on end user support, both physical and remotely. Monitoring systems closely and proactively helping users is a key factor in effectiveness of ICT Operations.

Under the direct supervision of the ICT Officer, the intern will be responsible for the following tasks.

• Effective customer support & training,
• Maintenance of photocopy machines, audio/video conference equipment,

• Image of UNICEF laptops and troubleshooting of accessories,

• Maintenance of telecom equipment such as radio handhelds, SatPhones, BGAN,

Duty Station: Ankara

Supervisor: ICT Officer

Duration: 3 months

Stipend: In accordance to UNICEF's guidelines, interns will be paid a nominal stipend per month. There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years - Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• To be fluent in English, with strong writing skills. Additionally, fluency in another official and working language of the UN (United Nations) would be an asset.
• To have good academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
• Additional consideration will be given for any experience in related fields.

Remarks:

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
