How can you make a difference?

UNICEF’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) function is in a state of transformation, in line with the recognition of the changing tide of the ICT world and the business environment in which it serves. The ICT function is focused on continued improvement of services for the realization of UNICEF’s mandate. It incorporates continuous improvement to better leverage technology for competitive advantage and business value optimization. Under the supervision of the Head of ICT, the intern will support different technology related projects, focusing on the rollout of the tablets project, Team’s education project, and assisting troubleshooting computer hardware and software. Specific tasks are highlighted below:

  • Support the UNICEF Tablets project, coordination with staff in the field and following up with their requests using the Tablets Mobile Management Portal with visits to the camps and close coordination between different parties
  • Support Teams Education Project, training facilitators and children on best use
  • Assisting with troubleshooting computer hardware and software, support in Setting up computer workstations.
  • Ad hoc end-user support via email, Teams, Ticketing system, phone, or in-person
  • Other similar duties as assigned by Supervisor

Modality: Paid Internship- Fulltime

Tentative start date: 15 January 2022

To qualify as a champion for every child you will…

Education: Be enrolled in an undergraduate, PHD or graduate degree programme, or have graduated within the past two years, preferably in the field of Computer Sciences, Information Technology or other related areas.

Experience and Skills:

  • Have solid and practical application knowledge in different Technology related areas
  • Good understanding of computer programming languages.
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university records.
  • Previous work experience in ICT considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic required.
