ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. JOB PURPOSE

We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFP Human Resources Unit, - Mozambique, the position will be based at Maputo. The Internship will be for an initial period of six (6) months. The selected candidate will be assisting the WFP Human Resources Unit with the following key duties:

  • Digital filing
  • Document Management (Photocopying, scanning, and filing)
  • Preparation of standard documents using standard office software packages, e.g., Microsoft word.
  • HR Customer Service/Supporting HR Officer in responding to clients’ needs
  • Project Management
  • Backfill for HR colleagues
  • Review of HR documentation (for staff files) and follow-up with respective staff/managers.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • ​​​​​​University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in a field relevant to the position such as Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Digital Filling and related Field.
  • Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognized university and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, Online apps, SAP systems
  • Fluent in English language (both written and oral)
  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheets and databases (MS Excel and MS Access) or other databases
  • Ability to present information in the form of tables, charts and diagrams easily comprehensible

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Special Assistant to the Head of HR. Leading some HR initiatives/Projects.
  2. Provide administrative support in various HR activities i.e recruitments, contracting
  3. Support with the filing documentation of international staff records, HR databases and archives, to ensure data and files are accurately stored and updated in compliance with the established standards.
  4. Support with HR statistics and new CSP Organization readiness project activities.
  5. Draft various HR documentation as and when required in accordance to the agreed Service Level Agreements.
  6. Support with Culture & Engagement initiatives and prepare presentations.
  7. HR travel focal person and procurement services.

  • Arrangement of staff files for both National staff

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • This internship is open to only Mozambican Nationals
  • Duration of assignment will be 6 months with a posibility of extension
  • Duty station/location can be in Maputo or our field offices.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, travel to and from WFP internship location, necessary visas and costs related.
  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$575 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
