We are currently seeking to fill 3 intern positions in Talent Acquisition and Deployment Branch, Human Resources Division based in HQ Rome, Italy.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIVISION

The Talent Acquisition and Deployment Branch is a strategic partner and acts as a Center of Excellence for WFP providing advice, support, trainings, tools, and corporate guidance on a range of talent management areas. We are committed to promote and implement diversity and inclusivity within our workforce and offer practical talent solutions, to support and advance WFP’s mandate.

Our team provides guidance and advice on job evaluation and position management, facilitates the international staff deployment through reassignment, ensures new talent is identified and sourced through different recruitment channels (young professionals, international professional and general service workforce, etc), and that appropriate FIT Pools and other rosters are established and readily available to immediately fill talent gaps.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Currently enrolled with at least two years undergraduate or graduate studies completed, or recently graduated (within the past six months) studies in in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Management, or related area preferred
  • University course attendance in the past 12 months
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exposure to Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, and project management is highly desirable
  • A deep commitment to and enthusiasm for humanitarian efforts, in alignment with WFP's mission and values
  • Flexibility, multitasking prowess, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A results-oriented approach, with a focus on making a meaningful impact on global issues through your contributions
  • Experience or a keen interest in working effectively in diverse, cross-cultural environments, fostering a global perspective
  • An aptitude for collaboration, working seamlessly within the team and across departments to achieve collective objectives
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is desirable

WORKING LANGUAGES

Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency/level C). Another UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, or Chinese) would be an asset

SUPERVISION

Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Officer, the candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Gain a deep understanding of WFP’s programs and operations, to provide excellent talent acquisition support
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute fresh ideas and solutions on special projects such as employer branding initiatives, recruitment projects, or process improvements.
  • Support full lifecycle of recruitments which can include creating vacancy announcements within the Applicant Tracking System (SuccessFactors), screening candidates against established criteria and supporting technical assessments.
  • Amplify our recruiting pipeline by sourcing passive candidates and leveraging social media and recruiting tools to showcase our organization and open positions.
  • Maintain organized records of recruitment activities, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with confidentiality standards.
  • Perform other duties as required.

TRAINING COMPONENTS

Throughout their assignment WFP interns have access to an industry leading learning platform, weLearn. Depending on opportunities and availability of funds, he/she may participate in WFP workshops or seminars, as appropriate.

LEARNING ELEMENTS

At the end of the assignment, the Intern should have a solid overview of WFP HR processes.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
  • WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
  • Candidates who bear any of the following relations to WFP staff members are not eligible to apply: sons, daughters, brothers or sisters.
