The Private Sector Fundraising section within PFP works with UNICEF National Committees and country offices to maximize engagement and drive income growth. There are five units within the PSFR section. The purpose of the Faith and membership-based organizations income channel, within the Global Philanthropy unit, is to drive engagement, impact and income growth from faith and membership-based organizations.

The team provides support to all the fundraising markets, supporting them in the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of faith and membership-based donors, and also plays a role in the relationship management of key partners.

How can you make a difference?

The Faith and membership-based organizations unit is looking for an intern for four months starting in June or July 2022. The internship is full-time and can either be done at the PFP office in Geneva or remotely.

The purpose of this internship is to assist the unit with the collection and dissemination of content and research on various channels (website, intranet, newsletters). The intern will contribute to increasing visibility and uptake of activities conducted by UNICEF National Committees and Country Offices.

Main tasks and Deliverables:

  • Support the development of assets and content, including for the unit newsletter, pulling together stories, links, and articles that will inform and inspire our fundraisers
  • Support the management of the unit Intranet and Internet pages to ensure important information and knowledge on partnerships is accessible and up to date, and support the appropriate dissemination of information
  • Support the development of Donor profiles on new prospects
  • Contribute to the management of the channel calendar of activities capturing key moments such as religious festivals, global events and more.

A more detailed workplan will be agreed and drawn up at the beginning of the internship. The intern must demonstrate good project management and organizational skills.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. degree program or have graduated within the past two years with a degree in Business, Communication, Marketing, International Relations, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.

  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and have no other relatives in the line of authority to which the intern will report to.

  • Additional consideration will be given to any past experience.
  • Possess communications and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a set time frame.
  • Good level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Mailchimp. Knowledge of SharePoint and/or Drupal is a plus
