****Who are we?**** The position is a part of the Policy, Process and Tools Team, which consists of 6 colleagues, under the Finance, Risk and Supply Chain (FRISC) department and will report to the Head of Finance Policy, Processes and Tools. The vision of the department is to support the operations in delivering on DRC’s mandate, while ensuring that the funds provided to DRC are being utilised to the maximum benefit of refugees and internally displaced people.

****About the job**** DRC introduced a new global ERP system in 2019, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (internally called DRC Dynamics). The ERP system launch led to constant effort for further implementation, support, and optimisation; and prompted the need for review and further development of finance policies and processes. The purpose of the position is to develop and continuously improve the financial policies and processes of DRC, rolling out the updates and support implementation efforts. The Finance Policy and Process Advisor will be a key position in setting the framework on core financial matters and strengthening the control environment of DRC. The position will include providing technical support and guidance on the financial policies and processes as they are applicable across DRC globally. The position will report to the Head of Finance Policies, Processes and Tools.

More specifically the position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the assigned finance policies and processes
  • Identify stakeholders, form reference group, facilitate workshops for data gathering and conceptualise inputs into sustainable policies and processes
  • Act as subject matter expert for the policies & processes developed and enrich the group discussions with best practices
  • Run review sessions and consolidate the inputs as appropriate
  • Roll-out of finance policies and processes across the organisation to the relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure coherency and consistency with the other DRC’s finance policies and processes
  • Act when gaps or issues are discovered to ensure future proofing
  • Provide technical support and advise on financial policies and processes
  • Capture business needs for new policies and processes and support the planning efforts
  • Stay up to date with finance best practices, especially INGOs practices

About you

Your ability to work and collaborate with colleagues across departments will be key to successfully developing and implementing new and improved policies and processes in the organisation. You will also need a passion for financial systems and technical tools. You are someone that is not afraid to ask questions and motivated to bring about change. A people person who can communicate clearly, can zoom-in and out on the matters, and is considerate of different cultures and ways of working. This position is only for those that have the passion and drive to work for one of the world’s largest NGOs.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • University degree or equivalent within a relevant area (finance, business management, accounting)
  • Experience in developing and documenting finance policies or/and processes, preferably in a humanitarian organisation
  • In depth knowledge and experience of financial systems and tools (Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics considered an advantage)
  • Knowledge of applicable Danish and international accounting standards
  • An ability to work with continuous development of generic concepts
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex processes in an easy to comprehend manner

Desirable

  • Training experience and presenting to participants of varying capacities
  • Experience in using O365 applications
  • International accounting qualification
  • French language skills (Intermediate and above)

We offer

Contract length: permanent contract, 37h per week

Workplace: DRC HQ, Borgergade 10, Copenhagen, Denmark

Start date: as soon as possible.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC (agreement for academics). This is a national position in Denmark for which local terms and conditions apply.
