Contract

This is a DRC - National contract. More about DRC - National contracts.

Are you looking for an exciting internship opportunity with one of the world’s largest international NGOs? Then you might be our new intern for the autumn semester.

Who are we? The Department of Finance, Supply Chain and Risk (FRISC) consists of more than 70 colleagues divided in 4 divisions. You will be a member of the Finance Controlling section (under the Operational Finance Division) which is composed of 9 Finance Controllers working together as partners to our DRC Operations in over 40 countries. The purpose of the section is to support the operations and to control them primarily through the Month end closure process.

About the internship

The purpose of the internship is to support the Finance controlling section’s activities and development, with a key focus on supporting, enhancing, and structuring internal processes.

You will get the opportunity to work with a broad range of finance controlling items. You will also have the chance to work in collaboration with our colleagues from the Country Operations. This will be a unique opportunity to be exposed to how Finance works in a large-scale NGO.

Key tasks:

  • Perform, review, and analyse some of the key tasks/processes to come up with suggestion for optimisation (including potential automation)
  • Develop tools (process note, communication tools) to support and standardize the tasks/processes
  • Provide Finance desk support to the country operations, in coordination with the Finance controllers
  • Assist with the performance of financial and accounting tasks
  • Smaller administrative tasks, such as the maintenance and development of DRC internal SharePoint Site for the section, assisting in the preparation of meetings, webinars, etc.

We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence the tasks, subject to what is relevant for your study programme.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be able to work independently but to also enjoy collaborating with others in a team. The internship position requires you to work in a structured manner and to have an eye for details. You are not afraid to ask questions and motivated to work with different cultures and ways of working.

All employees and interns in DRC should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving, for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Currently be studying for a master’s degree, preferably in Finance and Administration
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English
  • Be proficient in the use of MS Office and preferably MS 365
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills

You must be enrolled in a university to be considered for the internship.

We offer

The opportunity to gain experience working for an international NGO, while working independently with different tasks related to finance, accounting, and internal processes.

You will learn how to work professionally in finance in an international organization, while being part of a dynamic workplace.

Contract length: 4-6 months subject to study requirements and further dialogue

Workplace: DRC Headquarters located Borgergade 10, Copenhagen

Start date: 1st of September. We can be flexible on the start date.

Working hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.
