Result of Service

Expected Outputs and Timelines 1. Events Management: Update and share monthly the calendar of upcoming events. Support the organization and promotion of events (Ongoing) 2. Design and Production of Materials: Produce and design key communication materials such as newsletters, reports, and promotional documents. (Ongoing) 3. Engaging Digital Content: Develop and publish engaging content for digital platforms, including social media, blog posts, website updates, and email campaigns. (Ongoing) 4. Communication Metrics Report: Monitor and analyze communication metrics and provide monthly reports with recommendations for improvements. (December 2024) 5. Social Media Content Plan: Create a detailed content plan for social media, including a posting schedule and content themes. (August 2024) 6. Review of Youth and Trade webpages: Review and update content on ITC’s website related to Youth and Trade in line with the programme’s key messages (October 2024). 7. Annual Report: Support the development of Youth and Trade Annual Report by producing stories and compelling visuals to communicate on achievements and results (December 2024).

Duties and Responsibilities

Background The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations (UN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). It is fully dedicated to supporting the internationalization of small and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs). It has a mission to foster inclusive and sustainable growth and development through trade and international business development. ITC Headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland. ITC projects and programmes contribute to the global efforts to achieve UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development and the Aid for Trade agenda. The Youth and Trade initiative Within the International Trade Centre, the Youth and Trade initiative offers specialized solutions, in partnership with relevant institutions, to create opportunities to support youth economic empowerment by reinforcing their skills for employability and entrepreneurship. ITC manages a global community supporting young entrepreneurs – Ye! Community, which connects youth entrepreneurs and key ecosystem actors to provide access to resources, tools, opportunities, and networks, to enhance their entrepreneurial capacities. The overall objective (impact) of the Ye! Community is to empower young people with the right skills, networks, and support to build sustainable and impactful enterprises. The Ye! Community provides a platform to connect youth entrepreneurs, ecosystem enablers, and experts to one another to empower young entrepreneurs and contribute to sustainable economic development and trade for good. Description of Duties/Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Youth and Trade Programme Manager, and in close coordination with the Ye! Community Manager, the Communications Expert will support all communication tasks for the Youth and Trade initiative and the Ye! Community. More specifically, the Communications Expert is expected to undertake the following tasks: 1. Planning and Content Development • Develop and implement communication plans for Youth and Trade and Ye! Community. • Produce compelling and engaging written content, including press releases, reports, blog posts, website updates, and project stories. • Identify and write news articles concerning Youth and Trade beneficiaries. • Coordinate with relevant focal points to identify stories and connect with beneficiaries and partners to create relevant content. • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive and aligned messaging. 2. Communications Materials Development • Design and produce high-quality written and visual content, including graphics, infographics, and other visual assets using tools like Canva, ensuring consistency with the brand’s visual identity. • Create and design communication materials that effectively convey key messages and brand identity. • Provide guidance and support for the implementation of key messages and visual identity elements across all marketing channels, including digital, print, social media, and events. • Collaborate with graphic designers and film producers to produce branded visual materials for various communication needs, when required. 3. Events Management • Update the Youth and Trade and Ye! events calendar that covers every month in advance the major forthcoming events. • Distribute this events calendar at the beginning of each calendar month to team members. • Go through all Youth and Trade and Ye! Community projects work plans and contact the respective focal points for details at the end of the previous months. • Support all virtual and in-presence workshops and webinars with the relevant communication materials. • Ensure that ITC rules and regulations are followed and liaise with ITC C&E media and publicity for the trainings. 4. External Communication and Social Media • Manage and grow social media presence across various platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement. • Regular updating of the Youth and Trade and Ye! community webpages and social media pages with current information, stories, and images. • Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess effectiveness and make data-driven improvements. Update the programme manager on developments. 5. Coordination and Reporting • Participate in weekly team meetings to ensure smooth coordination with team members and report on key communications achievements • Capture all communication materials realized for Youth and Trade and related coverage about the programme and send monthly updates on the programme's communications to the project manager. • Participate in CE Communication Meetings to ensure smooth coordination • Support Youth and Trade in programme reporting through the production of high-quality text and compelling visual assets for Youth and Trade annual report. Copyright Clause: The Consultant has to ensure that s/he has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform his/her services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the Consultant shall request prior written permission from ITC. S/he has further to ensure to obtain accreditation to event(s), if required. Qualifications/special skills

Postgraduate degree (MA/MSc/MBA, PhD, or other) in communications, marketing, advertising, business administration, or a related field. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, social media management, or related fields. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communication strategies. Demonstrated experience in producing and designing branded content. Experience in content creation for digital platforms Experience working with communications for international development organizations, particularly in trade, economic empowerment, or similar areas. Experience in working with youth, youth businesses, and MSMEs as well as in community mobilization and advocacy. Experience in producing and designing communication materials. •Proficiency in developing and implementing communication strategies. •Strong social media management skills, including content creation and engagement. •Excellent content creation skills for digital platforms. •Proficiency in design tools such as Canva. •Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. •Ability to analyze communication metrics and make data-driven improvements. •Excellent organizational and event facilitation skills.
