We in DRC are looking for a sound Business Controller. You will be part of our project finance team of Business Controllers. The purpose of the position is to provide proactive business financial support related to international activities, as well as helping in identifying and escalating the risks and make valuable contributions to the decision-making process. Also, a business controller might get involved into specific projects, that will entail focus in particular tasks. All the above are being handled by using MS DYNAMICS ERP software, which is part of the fun package.

The Department of Finance, Supply Chain and Risk (FRISC) consists of more than 70 colleagues divided into 6 teams. You will be part of our Project Business Team of Middle East, Europe and Asia, working together as a dedicated partner for our country operations and to ensure the highest business financial standards. About the job

Key responsibilities:

Country Business Operational Controlling & Supporting

  • Control & support the proposal development (Financial proposals to donors
  • Control & support the business reporting (regular and ad hoc reports, audits)
  • Control & support the Master Budget Modality (Cost allocations against Actual and expected funds)
  • Conduct and Control the Budget Follow Up (BFU) meetings
  • Support countries on financial risk identification

Country Expert Advice & Capacity Building

  • Provide on demand expert advice to countries, regarding financial business modalities
  • Support countries on implementation of MS DYNAMICS modalities
  • Support countries on capacity building of managerial financial related staff, namely country finance managers and coordinators, head of support services, grants managers, supply chain managers.
  • Any other task assigned by Manager, within the regular frame of the position responsibilities, such as substitution etc.

You will also be involved in special projects, with aim to improve the overall system business financial capacities in DRC globally as well as participating in various working groups, taskforces etc. across the organization. The position will require travelling to the country operations.

About you

To be successful in this role, we expect you to be a self-fulfilled professional, with high operational and ethical integrity, that can work autonomously on day-to-day aspect. Yet, a strong team approach is needed when it comes to standardization, common goals, and quality across the board.

You must have a solid operational financial business background, combined with the elegance of communication and the precision of a surgeon. Knowledge on MS DYNAMICS is probably a must, although any ERP related experience will be a plus. Nevertheless, a great will to learn by doing is desired, as MS DYNAMICS in DRC is yet customized to fit the organization´s multilevel setup.

Our working language is English, but some French& Spanish will be appreciated, and some more will be loved. Danish is an added value.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in relevant field, namely business administration, finance, engineering etc.
  • Controller and accounting experience, preferably from an international organization.
  • Ability to translate accounting issues to manageable solutions and being comfortable bringing these solutions to your colleagues and manager.
  • Have attention to details while at the same time keeping an overview.
  • Experienced user of Excel.
  • Experienced user of ERP systems (MS Dynamics) and accounting principles.
  • Good language skills – both in written and spoken English. It is an advantage if you have excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and/or Spanish as well.
  • Ability/ Willingness to travel

Contract length: Permanent

Start date: Preferably 1st July 2022

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
