You have:

• Basic education degree is HS Diploma
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
• Strong knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams
• Fluency in Spanish is required
• Knowledge in spoken and written English is desirable
• Demonstrated respect for diversity, inclusion, integrity, and professionalism is desirable
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment is desirable

Duties and Responsibilities

The United Nations Resident Coordinator (RC) system, part of the UN Secretariat since January 2019, brings together all UN development organizations to provide coherent, effective and efficient support at the country level. The RC is the highest ranking official of the UN Development System in each country and the designated representative of—and reports directly to—the UN Secretary General. As such, the RC leads the UN Country Team and coordinates UN support to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda through shared standards, capacities and collaboration across UN entities. The RC system strengthens unified UN action to advance nationally, regionally and globally towards development goals. Under the direct supervision of the Economist, the intern will support the work of the Resident Coordinator Office by collecting, reviewing and analyzing international developments and economic data relevant for market dynamics and their impacts on inclusive development in Paraguay. The intern will: • Collect and organize economic, socioeconomic and market-related data and information from local and international sources. • Support the review and analysis of the data and information compiled. • Support the preparation of written analysis and presentations related to this work for internal use.

Qualifications/special skills

The basic education degree is HS Diploma Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) For this internship, studies in the fields of social sciences, international development, public policy, economics, statistics, data science, or other related areas are desirable. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams. Is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills is desirable. Ability to draft clear summaries, meeting notes, briefs, and reporting inputs is desirable. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment is desirable. Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in Spanish is required. Knowledge in spoken and written English is desirable for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official language of the United Nations. NOTE: "Fluency" equals a rating of "fluent" in all areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and knowledge of equals a rating of "confident" in two of the four areas.
