Background
Conditions of the Internship:
- As of 1 January 2020, Interns may be given a stipend according to the UNDP Internship Policies, if is not financially supported by any institution or programme, such as a university, government, foundation or scholarship programme;
- Interns are responsible for securing adequate medical insurance for the duration of the internship. UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
- Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship;
- Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity;
- The purpose of the Internship Programme is not to lead to further employment with UNDP but to complement an intern’s studies. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of an internship;
- The intern will be evaluated at the end of the contract and due recognition of work will be issued in writing.

Background:
The Project is designed to strengthen the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in its new and fundamentally enhanced role within the governance system in carrying out key functions of law-making, oversight, and representation. With a long-term goal of enhancing the overall effectiveness of the National Assembly as a policy-making institution, the Project is designed to support governance tools and mechanisms towards improved quality, transparency and inclusiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of UNDP MAP Project CTA and Associate Project Coordinator, The Intern will provide support for implementation of tasks associated with the day-to-day management and operation of the project. S/he will be responsible for providing the following administrative support functions.
- Assist the Project’s team by taking minutes and making summaries for the Project on-line/off-line meetings, calls, events, etc.;
- Assume administrative responsibility for organization of seminars, press conferences, workshops, board meetings and other on-line events.
- Draft agendas and background materials, prepare leaflets, take notes and draft minutes of working meetings, workshops, board meetings, etc.;
- Performs other duties as required.

- Proven strong organisational and logistics skills. Experience in organising events in coordination with parties involved;
- Ability to approach work with energy and positive and constructive attitude;
- Ability to focus on a variety of tasks and effectively produce timely and quality outputs in a deadline-driven environment;
- High level of motivation, ability to show initiative;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Demonstrated tact, high sense of responsibility and discretion;
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the followingrequirements:
- Be enrolled in high school/postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Have recently graduated with a high school/university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
Computer skills:
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Internet. Skills related to use of office IT equipment.
- Experience of uploading web-based data.
Languages:
Excellent written and spoken Armenian and English. Russian is an asset.
