• Communication and publication strategies are implemented; • Communication tools are created and distributed; • S&R information documents are well developed: PowerPoint, infographics, fact-sheets, databases, reports, minutes, notes, briefings, etc.; • Awareness-raising activities are well organized; • Regular updates on stabilization and recovery achievements on the ground are disseminated;

Under the direct supervision and the overall guidance of the Director of Stabilization and Recovery section, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Support data collection, analysis and visualization efforts of the Stabilization & Recovery section, focusing on the following results:

• Support national and international partners in the development and update of online and other tools dedicated to the coordination of assistance, stabilization and development programmes and projects in post-conflict areas; • Support content and knowledge management, as well as data collection regarding stabilization and recovery results on the ground; • Assist in the production and updating of information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline; • Update stabilization & recovery content into the UN internet and MINUSMA website and provide overall quality control;

REPORTING

Support reporting and publication efforts of the Stabilization & Recovery section, focusing on the following results:

• Produce/disseminate regular reports/documents and updates for the section and other stakeholders; • Respond timely to internal reporting requests; • Produce and update the bimonthly S&R bulletin and collect relevant inputs accordingly; • Participate in the editing of the S&R publication tools, and in the development of new publication tools when needed;

COMMUNICATION

Support external communication strategies and approaches, focusing on the following:

• Participate in the preparation of communication activities, including briefing notes, presentations, visual materials and minutes, etc.; • Collaborate closely with the Strategic Communications and Public Information Division (SCPID, for the promotion of stabilization and recovery activities); • Participate in awareness-raising and outreach activities, organized by SCPID, in view of highlighting concrete initiatives managed by the section; • Perform any other related activity as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

Progressively responsible professional experience in communication, reporting, and information management in international or national organizations. Computer skills: Experience with tools and software used for communication activities such as graphic design, and video editing (Adobe Creative Cloud – All Apps, etc).

This position is located in the Office of Stabilization and Recovery of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), Bamako. Bamako is a Non Family Duty Station, classified as “D” following an assessment of the overall quality of life, considering local conditions of safety and security, health care, housing, climate, isolation and level of amenities/conveniences of life.
