This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Senior Inter-Agency Coordinator and Information Management Officer, the UNV Information Management Officer will:

UNV Information Management Officer for the LCRP

1. General Information Management and Coordination

  • Perform assignments in the management of information on behalf of SoSt&Lh sectors of the LCRP and the Stabilization dimension of the LCRP including finalizing dashboards;
  • The IM Officer will liaise closely with LCRP sectoral leads and IM Officers (e.g. WASH, Education, Health, etc.) to ensure accurate data analysis concerning the impact and response vis-à-vis Lebanese host populations;
  • Work with SoSt & Lh technical officers to support survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares conclusions;
  • Prepare various written and infographics outputs, e.g. snapshots, humanitarian issue profiles, maps, graphs, for humanitarian appeals and relevant reports on humanitarian issues/projects;

2)“Activity Info” Reporting Platform, including the Who Does What and Where (3W/5W) database

  • Support the development of the following: standardized reporting formats, SOPs for need assessments, consolidating reports and data in the required formats for internal and external use;
  • Contribute significantly to the regular updating of 3W information by gathering information from organizations;
  • On a regular basis, collate and disseminate 3W maps to the humanitarian and development community;
  • Support the development of ICT procedures for the gathering/exchange of data with contributing partners as well as in the implementation of these procedures;

  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, e.g. in Geographic Information Systems, Information Management, Information Systems or a related field;

Required experience:

36 Months

Experience remark:

  • At least 3 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in information management (GIS, IM Software and infographic outputs (such as flash animation and/or any visual activities);
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;

  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;

  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
  • Knowledge of Arcmap, powerBi, AIdobe illustrator
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Sound security awareness;

  • Arabic(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
