UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary supports UNICEF operations globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology.

Global Shared Services Centre is seeking a developer to create new e-learning content for the eZ-HACT 2.0 project. The curriculum will feature video tutorials developed from recorded screencasts made by Subject Matter experts on the eZ-HACT 2.0 project.

Both Hungarian national and international applicants can apply given remote nature of the services to be provided.

How can you make a difference?

Thousands of eZ-HACT 2.0 users worldwide, responsible for paying our service providers, will benefit from these short quick reference videos. As a result, your work will help to streamline the work of UNICEF for the benefit of the children and mothers who we serve.

The job requires a creative individual who can work with minimal supervision.

This will involve:

Under the direction of the Learning and Development Specialist and in consultation with the Vision (SAP/ERP system) Consultant and the UNICEF Division of Financial and Administrative Management (DFAM), the consultant will produce approximately 12-14 two-minute videos along with up to 2 longer (up to 10 minute) videos. These videos will show software screen movements and the completion of steps. Computer voice and/or live recorded voices will guide the student through the steps. The videos will also need to be captioned in English. Our colleagues in DFAM will provide French language captioning, therefore a second version will need to be created with the French caption. Completed videos should contain thematic branding and feature graphical enhancements as necessary.

Under the application support guidance:

  • Liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) from DFAM to receive recorded content
  • Review content and, using editing tools as well as graphics, create e-learning content of each subject
  • Create the English language narration (from script provided by DFAM) as well as the English language caption
  • Work with DFAM translator to incorporate the French language caption to the French versions
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development Team and Vision Consultant as project progresses
  • Test and revise content based on feedback

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...

  • Proven experience in e-learning video production (sample work must accompany application)
  • Animation expertise
  • Advanced English language skills are required
  • French language skills are considered an asset
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt based on feedback requests

Mandatory Requirements

The proposing service provider must include the following attachments in their submission:

  • Motivation letter, explaining candidate’s interest in e-learning and video development.
  • Sample of one video (at least 30 seconds) demonstrating screen capture along with graphical and/or animation skills including voice over.
  • Two letters of reference regarding candidate’s suitability as per the minimum qualifications and competencies.
  • CV detailing background and all relevant experience.
  • Financial Proposal indicating the hourly rate for delivery of services. The daily rate should be expressed in either Hungarian Forint (HUF), U.S. dollars (USD), or Euros (EUR). The offer must be all-inclusive and expressed in gross amounts. If/where applicable, the exchange rate to be used for currency conversion will be the United Nations rate of exchange

Candidates will be subject to reference checks during the selection process.

Successful bidders will be required to accept UNICEF’s General Terms and Conditions for Service Contracts.

Location and duration

The consultant shall perform their duties remotely and is expected to work using own equipment on flexible work arrangements under the supervision of the Learning & Development Specialist.

The duration is 5 months with the possibility of extension based on project needs.

Evaluation Criteria

Candidates who are under serious consideration will be evaluated by the following criteria:

  • E-learning video production experience
  • E-learning sample submission
  • Animation expertise
  • English language skills

Candidates meeting technical requirements will be evaluated based on value for money of Financial Proposal.

Payment information

The consultant will be paid by the hour.

Each month the consultant will issue an invoice along with timesheet to the supervisor showing work progress for that month. Approved invoices will be submitted for payment

This is a part time consultancy and as such consultant is not eligible to paid time off during this period. The terms of payment are upon receipt and approval of invoice and acceptance of work outputs. Payment will be completed by bank transfer in the currency of offer on the next payment cycle (usually within 2 weeks’ time).

Terms of employment

Consultants are required to submit a statement of good health prior to commencement of work and to take full responsibility for the accuracy of that statement.

Consultants are responsible for arranging, at their own expense, life, health, and other forms of insurance covering the period of their services on behalf of UNICEF as they consider appropriate. Consultants are not eligible to participate in the life or health insurance schemes available to United Nations staff members.

Consultants are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and contributions in accordance with local laws. UNICEF is tax exempt entity and cannot assume nor undertake any liability for taxes, duties or other contributions payable by consultants on payments made under their contract with UNICEF.
