Result of Service Successfully developed and updated multimedia products for the web and the Office social networking platforms. Successfully developed and maintained the Office's disarmament outreach and educational materials.

Work Location Vienna

Expected duration 6 months, starting as soon as possible

Duties and Responsibilities The Media Editor will support the work of the Vienna Office of UNODA in the ongoing process of implementation its outreach and disarmament education work with a view to strengthening the reach and impact of existing flagship initiatives and developing new ones that reinforce inclusive and sustainable disarmament approaches. Specific outputs include:

1) Media editing - Create and revise communication materials (infographics, brochures, posters, banners, flyers, logos, graphics, animations, presentations etc) to support the work and outreach activities of the Vienna Office. - Edit promotional and eLearning videos, including, where applicable, the preparation of scripts and storyboards, filming, selecting music and postproduction. - Developing multi-media products for the web and the Office social networking platforms.

2) Disarmament Education and outreach activities - Assisting the team with developing and updating the e-learning materials using dedicated software (such as Storyline). - Participate in the organization of outreach events, including taking photos and filming. - Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository/archive of audiovisual, educational and other outreach materials of the Vienna Office. - Ensure that all contents are on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice.

3) Other - Support strategic, outreach and administrative efforts of the Vienna Office and UNODA disarmament education work. - Support the UNODA communications groups and associated Office-wide branding, communication and outreach initiatives and campaigns. - Supervise graphic design interns and/or other junior support staff, as relevant.

Qualifications/special skills - A high school diploma is required. A first-level university degree or equivalent in social sciences, multimedia, international relations/ law or a related field is desirable - Understanding of disarmament and non-proliferation issues and cross-cutting matters is desirable - Technical knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects or similar software is required - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel...), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, PREZI or similar, SQL, HTML, XML, JavaScript, C++, PHP, R, MySQL is required. - At least 2 years of working experience in video production, web design/management or related field is required. - Experience in preparing video clips, video scripts and storyboards is required. - Experience with the use of interactive e-learning software (e.g. Articulate Storyline 360) and other design tools (e.g. Canva, InDesign) is desirable. - Working experience with multi-partner projects is desirable. - Working experience with the United Nations system is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage.
