Translate and proofread scripts from English to German for UNODC.
You have:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in language, is required.
- A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of English to German translation, is required.
- Fluency in English and German is required.
- Knowledge of any other UN official language, is an advantage.
- Work experience with Trados, is desirable.
Result of Service The individual contractor will be translating scripts and other information from the original English version into German that pertain to and are in the support of the UNODC Global eLearning Programme. Translated documents will be delivered by email, using the same format as the original document.

Expected duration 13 working days (between 13 October to 2 November 2022)
Duties and Responsibilities The purpose of this assignment is to provide high-quality translation services and proof reading of scripts from English into German.
Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: - An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in language, is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: - A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of English to German translation, is required. - Work experience with Trados, is desirable. Language: - English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and German are required. Knowledge of any other UN official language, is an advantage.
