Overview

Translate scripts and documents from English to French

You have:

  • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in language is required.
  • A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in English to French translation work is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency in French is required.
  • Knowledge of any other UN official language is an advantage.
  • Work experience with Trados is desirable.

Result of Service The individual contractor will be translating scripts and other information from the original English version into French that pertain to and are in the support of the UNODC Global eLearning Programme. Translated documents will be delivered by email, using the same format as the original document.

Work Location Home based

Expected duration 70 working days (24 May to 31 August 2022)

Duties and Responsibilities The purpose of this assignment is to provide high-quality translation services and proof reading of scripts from English into French.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: - An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in language, is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience: - A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, with a proven track record on English to French translation work, is required - Work experience with Trados, is desirable.

Language: - English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and French are required. Knowledge of any other UN official language, is an advantage.
