You have:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in language is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in English to Arabic translation work is required.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
- Experience with Trados is desirable.
Result of Service The individual contractor will be translating scripts and other information from the original English version into Arabic that pertain to and are in the support of the UNODC Global eLearning Programme. Translated documents will be delivered by email, using the same format as the original document.
Work Location Home based
Expected duration 39 working days (22 July – 15 September 2022).
Duties and Responsibilities The purpose of this assignment is to provide high-quality translation services and proof reading of scripts from English into Arabic.
Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: - An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in language, is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience: - A minimum of 1 year of professional experience, with a proven track record on English to Arabic translation work, is required. - Work experience with Trados, is desirable.
Language: - English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in Arabic and in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language, is an advantage.
