Overview

Translate eLearning scripts and documents from English to Dari.

You have:

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in language is required.
  • A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of English to Dari translation is required.
  • Work experience with Trados is desirable.
  • Fluency in English and Dari are required.
  • Knowledge of any other UN official language is an advantage.

Result of Service Translation of eLearning scripts and/or other documents (English to Dari ); quality checking of audio and/or translated files.

Duties and Responsibilities The Individual Contractor will be translating scripts and/or other documents from the original English version into Dari that pertain to and are in the support of the UNODC Global eLearning Programme. Translated documents will be delivered by email using the same format as the original documents.

Qualifications/special skills An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in language, is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of English to Pashto translation, is required. Work experience with Trados, is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and Dari are required. Knowledge of any other UN official language, is an advantage.
