This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Within the context of UNFPA’s 2022-2025 Regional Programme for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), and in concert with UNFPA HQ ICT policies, the UNV will support the UNFPA’s regional strategy to achieve: • Implementation of Corporate ICT Strategies and Plans, • Roll out and support to new ERP • Effective customer support, • Management of resources, • Confidentiality, integrity and availability of all ICT Systems The UNV will work as part of the Operations Team of the Regional Office, under the direct supervision of the International Operations Manager and in close cooperation with the ICT Specialist, will provide support to the Regional Office on ICT as well as support to Country Office levels in the EECA region. The UNV may conduct some missions to the countries to support ICT related upgrades and corporate systems roll-out on as needed basis.

The UN Volunteer (Specialist) will undertake the following tasks: • Act as the first-line ICT user support • Maintain, upgrade or enhance existing systems including troubleshooting and providing continuing user support including laptops, printers, mobile devices, and their associated software and peripherals. • Arrange and oversee maintenance for ICT related services, including keeping stocks of spare parts and equipment to support the repair and maintenance of ICT equipment.
• Escalate the case to UNFPA HQ when necessary, if a local solution is not possible; • Setup and configure VOIP desk phones, maintain Global Directory, email ac-cess, group lists. • Configure, set up and maintain office LAN and WAN systems. • Employ state of the art ICT vendor management practices to ensure that ser-vices provided by vendors are acceptable. • Support automation of office workflows, innovation and digitalization initiatives of the RO. • Support creation of websites and visualization of KM tools and products, including regional projects. • Provide ICT support during internal/external office meetings, including with video and audio conferencing set up preparation • Work in tandem and backstop RO ICT Specialist to ensure uninterrupted ser-vice provision by the RO to COs.
• Undertake other duties related to the ICT as maybe required by the RO.

ICT helpdesk support, preferably in an international setting • Experience supporting Windows systems (10, 11), MS 365 services, computer hardware and software deployment and administration • Understanding and experience with IP networking • Knowledge of Active Directory/Azure Active Directory, VMWare/virtualization environments; • Other Desirable Skills: Good communication and personal interaction skills, strong client orientation, sound judgment, writing skills

This assignment’s duty station is Istanbul and relocation is required for the one not living in Istanbul. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, this can be within a month after contracted upon agreement with the hiring manager. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging her/his own housing and other living essentials. UNV Entitlements in a Nutshell for National UN Volunteers (Specialist): • Current Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) together with the 2022 bonus under special measures is approx 12,300 TRY. This amount is subject to increase in parallel with revision in allowance of local personnel applicable in each year. Volunteer living allowances for National UNVs will benefit from the increase in net salaries of 92.3 % for the General Service category, this will be reflected within the coming Payroll.

• 100% health, life and dismemberment coverage by CIGNA. As per UN’s diplomatic mission status, it is not included in National Security Institution’s (SGK) system but can be initiated on private basis. • Entitlement to annual Leave at the rate of 2.5 working days per completed month of volunteer assignment • Entry allowance for covering relocation expenses • Exit allowance upon completion of service • Several learning opportunities
