Our expert knowledge, skills and management systems contribute to the sustainable development of public infrastructure in Gaza and the West Bank, including Area C and East Jerusalem.

The Operations Team of the Office of the Quartet provides the full range of support services to ensure timely and quality delivery of the OQ Agenda and OQ Strategy, in compliance with the UNOPS and OQ Policy and Procedure.

ICT function in the OQ is governed by the UNOPS policies as well as the OQ Operations Manual. ICT supports OQ with managing ICT resources, network administration, IT business system solutions, ICT Risk Management and General Operations support.

The OQ is seeking to recruit an ICT Assistant to assist with ICT function. Under the overall guidance and the direct supervision of the ICT Manager, the ICT Assistant will deliver above objectives.

Functional Responsibilities

The ICT Assistant (ICT-A) will be based in Jerusalem, with travel / work to West Bank. The ICT-A will,

  • Assist in managing ICT resources, including hardware, software, inventory, skills, team, outsourced providers.
  • Assist in ICT projects / Business System solutions development.
  • Assist with general operations management.

The work is of a highly confidential nature and the ICT-A must maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

Working under the supervision of the ICT Manager and in close collaboration with the Operations Team, the ICT Assistant will be responsible for the following deliverables.

  • Assist in setting up and configuring the end user requirement.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of the IT and communications devices for wired and wireless networks.
  • Assist in the daily and routine IT support : Installation, operation, and maintenance of computer systems and other technologies, such as communication systems.
  • Technical support to end users on all help desk requests, including escalating cases to the ICT Manager.
  • Troubleshoot Internet connection problems including following up with the ISPs in Jerusalem and Ramallah.
  • Troubleshoot all internal networks at the office including LAN, Wi-Fi, Security systems networks.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems with security systems including VoIP phones system, CCTV cameras system and network, Access Control system and network, public address, Time Attendance system.
  • Monitor and maintain UPS systems and Power Generator of the building, including monthly checkup, spare parts, and fuel requirements.
  • Daily check of Antimalware portal for any problems.
  • Deployment of any required patches or licenses on the users’ systems
  • Assist in developing business system solutions (databases, forms, surveys etc.) in close collaboration with ICT manager and business owners.
  • Assist in procurement of ICT requirements, including follow up with suppliers
  • Conduct new staff onboarding and offboarding including inventory updates.
  • Maintain ICT inventory, with the support of Finance.
  • Stay updated with new features, capabilities and best practices of office deployed solutions.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the line manager.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education: - Secondary school is required, holder of Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Information Technology is desirable and can substitute some years of experience

Work Experience: - At least 5 years ( or less, depending on your academic credentials) of relevant experience is required. - Experience in technical support is required. - Experience in UN or INGO is desirable.

Organization Skills and Abilities: - A proven ability to work in a high pace environment. - Excellent writing and communication skills. - Ability to work with minimal supervision / take ownership. - Ability to manage requests and demands from multiple teams - Remains calm, in control and good humor even under pressure. - Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude. - Excellent team player - Demonstrated high level competence with using standard office software packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Language Requirements: - Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic & English is required. - Working knowledge of Hebrew is an advantage.
