This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of HR Officer, the UNV Human Resources Support Officer will:

  • Support the HR team to continue developing its resources for staff (e.g. SharePoint/teams site with information for staff, interactive organigramme with photos, online welcome kits and orientation materials, review and analysis of consultant workflows).
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the efficient implementation of HR tasks.
  • Arrange and maintain HR SoPs, HR-related records and e- files.
  • Liaises with candidates in the various stages of the recruitment process.
  • Compiles and analyses information and statistics related to posts and staff for reports on staffing trends.
  • Analyze, research, verify, and compile data which facilitates preparation of workforce planning reports for supervisor to review against diversity and other recruitment related key performance indicators.
  • Assist team in organizing and conducting HR webinars and trainings through providing logistical and support as necessary.
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, e.g. Social Sciences or area related to Human Resources.

Required experience:

24 Months

Experience remark:

  • At least 1-2 years of professional work experience at the national level in human resources or other relevant area; experience working in the UN or other international development organization will be an asset.

Language skills:

  • Indonesian(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

Knowledge management, archiving and documentation, Volunteer programmes and volunteer management, Human resources management and development

  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Good IT skills for data analysis and presentation;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of colleagues.

  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Sound security awareness;
  • Have affinity with or interest in human resources, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
