The Human Resources team is seeking to hire an HR Specialist to maintain and develop the Global NatCom HR Network and to support ongoing Learning & Development activities. With a focus on collective learning and development, this role also provides support to the implementation of PFP HR’s Learning and Development programme, delivering tailored learning and knowledge products adapted to the ongoing needs of PFP, NatComs and regional UNICEF teams.

(The Global NatCom HR Network comprises National Committees and UNICEF PSFR HR/People and Culture leaders. As part of UNICEF’s global Private Sector Operations Community, the NatCom HR Network has developed into an interactive, collaborative platform sharing key knowledge, learning, and best practices across UNICEF’s global PSFR HR and People and Culture ecosystem. The NatCom HR Network is a cooperative, supportive, and sustainability-focused community, developing and leveraging People and Culture-centered partnerships around UNICEF’s common values and strategic aims.)

For every child, a Champion

Reporting to the HR Manager, Learning & Development, PFP, and the under the general guidance of Chief HR, the HR Specialist is expected to support the Global NatCom HR Network as well as current initiatives in HR Learning & Development, to ensure the design and delivery of high-quality training for the PFP division as well as produce guidelines and knowledge products supporting learning in PFP and in UNICEF regions, globally. This role will also act as a key contact point for HR and L&D support for NatComs and PFP outposted staff.

How can you make a difference?

The key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks are:

  1. Support the Chief HR, PFP by maintaining and developing the Global UNICEF NatCom HR Network comprising PFP, National Committees, and PSFR Regional and Country Office HR colleagues.
  2. Facilitate networking, knowledge sharing, and learning partnerships between PFP, NatComs, and regional UNICEF PSFR offices on key HR/People and Culture issues and initiatives.
  3. Support the Global Private Sector Operations Community in the design, planning, and facilitation of Global Operations Community events and initiatives.
  4. Support the HR Manager, L&D in the identification and prioritization of learning needs within the private sector fundraising network, notably the National Committees.
  5. Design and deliver the Project Leadership training as a core course for PFP Corporate Partnerships’ Global Lead Account Managers’ (GLAM) Academy.
  6. Support and develop the high quality and sustainability of PFP’s coaching offer to PFP, NatComs, and UNICEF staff, through the delivery of Brain Based coaching and Development Planning coaching.
  7. Provide tailored training for PFP, UNICEF, and NatComs staff, including Development Planning, Project Management, and Design Thinking.

    DELIVERABLES:

  • Facilitation and development in 2023 of the Global NatCom HR Network, comprised of PFP, NatCom, and Regional PSFR HR and People and Culture colleagues.
  • Development and facilitation of peer learning partnerships engaging PFP, NatCom and PSFR HR/People and Culture colleagues in collaboration for sustainability around UNICEF shared values and strategic aims.
  • Collaborate with PFP's Global Private Sector Operations Communities on the planning, development and facilitation of the Community's events and initiatives.
  • Identification of key learning needs within the private sector fundraising network level to support PFP L&D programme alignment.
  • Design and delivery of the GLAM Project Leadership training for the PFP Corporate Partnerships GLAMs Academy.
  • Delivery of Brain-Based coaching and Development Planning coaching adapted to PFP, NatComs and UNICEF staff.
  • Design and delivery of training in Development Planning, Project Management Essentials and Design Thinking, adapted to the needs of PFP, NatCom and UNICEF staff.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

  • An Advanced University Degree in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology, or another related field is required.
  • Alternatively, a first-level degree with an additional two years of relevant work experience will be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in human resource management or learning and development is a requirement
  • At least five years of experience in coaching and training facilitation is required.
  • Experience in instructional design is an asset.
  • Professional certifications in coaching and instructional design would be an asset.
  • UN/UNICEF experience is an asset

Language requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
