Who are we?

The International Partnering & Recruitment (IPR) Team forms part of the People & Organisation function based at HQ Copenhagen and is responsible for supporting our international colleagues at HQ and in the field. Due to internal mobility, we are looking for a motivated HR Business Partner to join our emerging Centre of Excellence

About the job

We have an excellent opportunity at the Danish Refugee Council for a HR Partner to join us and provide support and expertise to our Country Operations and Regional Offices. You will focus on one of our regions that cover Africa, America, Asia and Europe, delivering effective and proactive HR support.

You will use your experience to monitor processes, advise and coach senior managers on DRC’s 6 HR services areas: People Planning, Recruitment, Performance Management, Development, Well-being, and Compensation and Benefits. You will be a trusted solution oriented sparring partner, continually driving best practice and ensuring compliance with DRC’s procedures, policies, and employment legislation.

You are experienced in supporting and enabling line managers to competently deal with performance, disciplinary, crisis management and duty of care. About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have several years’ experience with international HR and keen to keep growing and developing professionally. You are a motivated self-starter who is focused on delivering high-quality service and results to your clients, always looking for innovative ways to approach a challenge and comfortable bringing these ideas to your colleagues and manager. You are an excellent communicator who can listen to different views, helping to translate them into actionable policies and procedures. You are analytical and enjoy sparring with colleagues and managers to raise the bar continuously within the team.

All employees should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.

Moreover, we expect you to have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in providing HR support to decision makers, with an international company, INGO or organization
  • At least 2 years’ experience developing and drafting HR policies and procedures
  • Experience working effectively and cooperatively with diverse stakeholders
  • Direct experience facilitating organizational change processes
  • Excellent communication and writting skills in English
  • University degree within a relevant area

It is desirable that you have:

  • Project management experience
  • Previous work in a humanitarian and/or development organization
  • Written and verbal communication skills in French, Spanish or Danish

Contract length: permanent contract

Workplace: Borgergade, Copenhagen, Denmark

Start date: July 2022

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC at “fuldmægtig” level. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
