- Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure with deadlines.
- Ability to manage remote activities.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet; HRIS experience).
- Workday experience a plus.
- Experience successfully working in a multi-cultural environment.
- Strong ethical conduct.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Job Description
Job Overview: The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for overall implementation and coordination of the Human Resources activities for the IRC in Kansas. The HR Coordinator serves as Wichita’s local lead HR professional, providing a spectrum of services from tactical to strategic. As the HR position functions within a larger IRC network, this role will collaborate with local, regional, and HQ levels which each provide support to the HR function with IRC in Kansas. This position will engage with multiple parties to ensure compliance with all organization-wide policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Develop efficient and standardized systems in line with IRC practices for recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance management and annual professional development across the Kansas office.
· Provide support and connection to IRC HR systems for all Kansas employees regarding benefits and other HR-related questions about employment
· Provide management and staff with accurate and knowledgeable advice on HR matters, including HR-related general best practices, IRC policies and procedures, and Kansas-specific Labor Laws.
· Oversee and track all aspects of recruitment processes including local and HQ approval of vacancies, job description development, job postings, review of resumes, interviewing, reference checks; background checks, job offers, closing positions, and informing all applicants of status of position.
· Learn and ensure the most efficient and robust usage of all of IRC’s HR systems including Cornerstone (Applicant Tracking System), background check system, and others as identified
· Report new hire and status change information, leaves of absence, and separations to HQ, completing all necessary forms to accompany these actions
· Provide new hire orientation for new employees on Human Resources policies and fringe benefits as needed, and communicate with HQ Benefits representatives and other benefits personnel
· Track and communicate staff Paid Time Off (PTO) and sick day balances
· In close collaboration with regional HR Partner, manage employee relations, to reduce risk, minimize disruption to office operations and maintain a healthy, professional workplace
· In coordination with HR Partner and Kansas Leadership, provide guidance to Kansas staff regarding performance management and disciplinary action in compliance with IRC global HR policies and procedures
· Support professional development planning, training and tracking, in partnership HR Partner and Kansas leadership to provide training and ongoing education
· Manage and maintain compliant office personnel records of employees and AmeriCorps/VISTA Associates
· Maintain up-to-date employee directory and organizational charts
· Support Executive Director with annual performance review and merit process
· Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and fully engage as a member of the team
· Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency
· Other responsibilities as assigned

Internal Contacts: Finance Manager, Operations Coordinator, and others within Senior Management Team (SMT)
