The Human Resources Consultant (Projects) will assist with the coordination, design and implementation of key projects and initiatives within the Talent Acquisition section. They will:

  • Reporting to the HR Manager (WFP & Mobility) support project planning within Talent Acquisition and in collaboration with other teams coordinate, design and assist with the integration and implementation of key initiatives including, but not limited to:
  1. integration of Child Safeguarding into the recruitment process;
  2. integration of the Competency Framework into the staff selection process;
  3. assistance with Business Transformation initiatives on the use of non-staff modalities;
  4. monitoring of JIU initiatives within Talent Acquisition
  • Organization of Talent Acquisition activities (specific to projects) including, but not limited to, workshops, training, meetings, preparing reports and tracking progress of actions, as required.
  • Provide support to the TA Section on preparation of guidelines and presentations as needed.
  • Contribute to drafting of key documents for strategic meetings.
  • Conduct research on best practices and issues and engage with various centers of expertise in DHR

The consultant is expected to undertake other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor. Exact tasks may be added or modified throughout the time period of the assignment depending on the workload and emerging priorities.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• A second level university degree in HR management, business administration, social sciences,

education or related field is required. An additional two years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, ideally with 2-3 years of project management experience.

• Fluency in English. Knowledge of another UN working language an advantage.

REQUIREMENTS:

The proposal from the consultant should include daily/monthly rate (in US$) to undertake the terms of reference.

At the time the contract is awarded, the selected candidate must have in place current health insurance coverage.

Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed satisfactory deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
