• Contributed to the achievement of effective and efficient Human Resources services that continuously provide quality support to the Mission and staff; • Evaluated and screen applications, preparing profiles of candidates; • Initiated and follow up on reference checks and ensure the completion of recruitment formalities. • Successfully advised staff members regarding their entitlements and conditions of service; • Undertook research on a range of HR related issues and assist in the preparation of notes/reports; • Responded to queries concerning HR related matters ensuring;

Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader of the Recruitment Unit (please complete with the function of the supervisor), the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

1- Coordinate with Program managers and initiate recruitment actions in line with approved strategy • Liaise with Hiring Manager on the vacant post and initiate recruitment process • Take lead in recruitment related action including but not limited to coordinating post clearance, review ToRs, building and posting job opening/JO using talent Acquisition tool i.e. Inspira, conducting suitability review and releasing suitable profiles for substantive assessment • Assist Hiring Section in arranging technical assessment (technical/Competency Based Interviews) for the shortlisted candidates and help reviewing Interview report and onwards submission to relevant review bodies (where applicable) • Act as ex-officio in interviews and in Mission Review Panels, and advise panel members on the applicable rules and regulations; • Provide Hiring Manager with data on gender, geographical statistics and help them in making an informed recommendation while considering UN strategy on Gender and Geographic balance • Review HORIZONS for the downsizing mission and share suitable profiles with the Hiring Manager for review and possible placement

2- Coordinate the activities related to Onboarding of the staff members • Review approved recommendation memo and concluded pre-recruitment formalities in time at Mission level, including confirmation of interest, Vetting, confirmation in Inspira and initiating Offer management. • Ensure that a complete recruitment package is submitted to the RSCE for onboarding in a timely manner; • Coordinate with RSCE on the on-boarding process such as Offer and release, medical clearance, travel and visa arrangements. • Coordinate and notify new arrivals for necessary logistical and administrative arrangement including accommodation, airport pick, check in etc.

3- Update/Maintain the staffing table for international vacancies for tracking and reporting purposes: • Update the recruitment status tracker table with data regarding staff recruitment and onboarding status. • Coordinate with RSCE for the onboarding status of the staff and update recruitment tracker accordingly. • Notify Hiring Managers on recruitment status of their respective vacancies and help RSCE to expedite the onboarding process for the critical positions, where required • Prepare and disseminate a detailed weekly report on the Unit achievement and challenges. • Any other related tasks as may be required.

demonstrating knowledge and ability in delivering Human Resources services; Experience in the application of Human Resource Management Systems (for example: Inspira, Umoja, or related) is highly desirable. Field experience in a complex environment is desirable

Bamako is a non-family duty station with a difficult security and working environment. Mali is a non-family duty station. Living conditions are acceptable in Bamako, but security instructions need to be strictly complied with. Adequate housing is available for rent at US$ 500-1500 per month. The national currency is the Franc CFA (April 2020 exchange rate was 1 US$ = 560 FCFA). Visa credit cards are accepted in some hotels and larger shops. Mali is a country prone to malaria, so mosquito nets are highly recommended. Basic medicines are available from pharmacies, but provision needs to be made for specialized medication. Security recommendations from the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) must be followed by all UN Staff in the course of their assignments in Mali. For the sake of rewarding experience, UN volunteers in MINUSMA carry out their duties with flexibility, commitment, and a willingness to live and work in challenging conditions including heat and limited water and electricity supply.
