UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary provides services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology.

How can you make a difference?

The position of the Human Resources Assistant (Learning and Development Junior Curriculum Developer) at the GS-4 level, in the HR section of the GSSC Operations team, reports to the Human Resources Specialist (Learning and Development), who is at the NOC level.

The efficiency and efficacy of the HR Assistant contributes to ensuring that staff within UNICEF develop the skills and knowledge that enables them to effectively tackle their duties and tasks, thus strengthening the capacity and enabling the organization in helping the most vulnerable women and children across the world.

Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:

Work with Developers and Senior Developers

  • Support the development process by collaborating and assisting Developers and Senior Developers
  • Collaborate with the team on project development

Assist the development of training programmes

  • Assist Developers in the creation of concept papers on programme needs
  • Assist Developers in the design and development of learning initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Learning team and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to prove and refine concepts as required
  • Assist with updating and maintaining materials and programmes on Agora

Use of latest methods and technology to develop innovative learning outputs

  • Support the HR Specialist by assisting with background research on lessons learned for knowledge development and identification of best practices
  • Collaborate with research and reporting on best and cutting-edge technologies for learning development
  • Develop expertise in the recommended tools for development

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in curriculum design and/or e-learning development. A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted towards the minimum work experience requirements
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required
  • Instructional Design experience is required
  • Experience with e-learning development tools, such as Captivate, Vyond, Articulate, etc. is required
  • High sense of confidentiality, initiative and good judgment is required
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural background is required
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals is required
  • Knowledge of E-Learning management systems is desirable
  • Video editing experience is an asset
  • Software such as SharePoint; knowledge or integrated management information systems is desirable
  • Fluency in English required
  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish), or the local language of the duty station, is considered an asset
