How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Senior HR Associate, the incumbent will join a team of HR Assistants to provide back-fill support in the HR Services Unit. The tasks will involve the provision of Local Focal Point support in the area of HR benefits & entitlements to some 100+ colleagues, including Onboarding, Maintenance and Separation activities. The incumbent may also be required to support emerging projects and respond to organizational deadlines, as guided.

This appointment is highlighted as an HR opportunity to further develop sound and robust knowledge within the SD setting and to contribute and share their technical knowledge within the HR Services Unit.

A strong working knowledge of UNICEF’s HR Administration is essential for this appointment.

Key functions and responsibilities:

  1. Provide client service to some 100+ Supply Division staff members on a range of HR service activities related to benefits and entitlements.
  2. Provide guidance and interpretation of UNICEF staff rules & regulations, administrative instructions and guidelines.
  3. Support on-boarding and off-boarding of international and local staff members.
  4. Perform a range of attendance focal point duties to include monitoring, data entry and reporting.
  5. Actively contributes to HR administration and projects, as discussed with the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Education: Completed secondary school supplemented by courses in the field of Business & Administration, Human Resources, or other related area.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of similar experience in Administration or HR, preferably within UN/UNICEF.
  • Other technical skills: Knowledge of UN/UNICEF system applications, i.e., VISION/SAP, Talent Management System, Service Gateway… an asset.
  • Language requirements: Proficiency in English required. Knowledge of any other UN language an asset.

In addition, candidates will be expected to have a track record of satisfactory performance and strong experience in HR services and systems, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and have a flexible nature to adapt to changing circumstances while ensuring confidentiality in all aspects of the services.

UNICEF staff members globally and applicants who are EU nationals or in possession of a valid work permit for Denmark are eligible to apply. General Service (GS) staff are personally responsible for any travel and accommodation arrangements and UNICEF will not cover any costs related to relocation.
