You have:

- Proficiency in written and spoken Ukrainian language.
- Intermediate English proficiency (speaking/reading/writing).

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employees over 400 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2023 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
Overall purpose of the role:
To provide Human Resources assistance and support in compliance with DRC's and local guidelines and procedures
Sector responsibilities: With technical support from the country HR Manager, ensure all HR related task are carried out in Area Office with focus on HDP related recruitment, induction, assistance in HR record keeping, support with code of conduct related issues, guide other team members with relate to HR maters.
Geographic scope: Northern Ukraine (Chernihiv)
Responsibilities:
General Human Resources tasks:
- Assist management and employees in Human Resources related issues and concerns;
- Lead the recruitment of staff for the area including advertising, prepare long list, organizing interviews, reference checks and relevant documentation;
- Assist with compliance of personnel documentation with legislation in the field of labor law and personal data protection. Interact with DRC Country office, to assure timely and accurate documentation turnover;
- Assist with hiring, transfer and dismissal of employees in accordance with labor legislation, regulations, instructions, as well as orders of the Head of the Representative Office;
- Assist with form and administers personal files of employees, Personal Files were sent to the DRC Country Office in a timely manner;
- Assist with ensure leaves of DRC employees in the Area of responsibility, Internal Orders and send them for archive to DRC Country Office;
- Perform role of HR User in DRC dynamics (ERP), including hire, terminate and extension of employees’ contracts, checking leave requests and approvals, benefits, and compensation;
- Assist with the procedure of hiring local personnel in full compliance with the Labor Code of Ukraine, including the collection and verification of all personal documents from the new hire, preparation of the hiring order, preparation of information to the Fiscal Service of Ukraine about the new hire; making entries in labor books;
- Provide information on HR related changes in the Area of responsibility to DRC Country Office in a timely manner
Compensation and benefits
• Assist with staff payroll in close collaboration with other departments and ensure onward submission to Finance or Country HR. Compile a time sheet for all employees in the area of responsibility twice a month;
• Ensure that all relevant deductions are made on a monthly basis and reported to the country HR department;
• Prepare and submit required reports on a monthly basis for audit purposes;
• Ensure that records of all personnel related information are maintained and sent to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
Development, people planning, and well-being
- Ensure that the performance appraisal process is conducted, and that there are learning and development opportunities available to the employee;
- Assist in inducting training on Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest, etc. as needed;
- Assist in people planning activities (e.g. ensure job descriptions are in place for all roles);
- Assist or drive people well-being initiatives.
Education:
University degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or Social Science or equivalent professional qualification
Languages:
- Proficiency in written and spoken Ukrainian language.
- Intermediate English (speaking/reading/writing).
Additional information:
- Contract length: 12 months with the possibility of renewal depending on the effectiveness and funding of the program. Preliminary 3-month trial
- Start date: As soon as possible
