The People and Performance Group (PPG) helps UNOPS empowering people, driving organisational excellence and managing change across the organisation in order to help UNOPS deliver on its strategic intent.

The PPG is a strategic HR function for UNOPS, based in UNOPS headquarters in Copenhagen. We are focused on partnering with key stakeholders to shape the UNOPS HR strategy and building a workforce and culture that enables the organization to deliver on its strategy. PPG is also at the forefront of UNOPS HR transformation journey.

We are currently looking for an HR Specialist - Diversity and Inclusion to strengthen our capacity to retain the best talent from around the world. The role will contribute to the development of HR policies in conjunction with the policy team and develop initiatives that create and foster an open and inclusive work culture at UNOPS. The role will also lead the strengthening of organizational communications to help build understanding of and commitment to Diversity and Inclusion across our workforce.

This role reports to the Deputy Director, People and Performance Group (PPG) and will be instrumental in the implementation of UNOPS Gender Diversity and Inclusion strategy, with a focus on HR practice and diversity and inclusion in the organisation.

This role will be instrumental in the successful implementation of UNOPS Gender, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, with a focus on UNOPS workforce and organisation, and ensuring that HR practice reflects and enables a diverse workforce and inclusive work environment. The role works with HR colleagues and managers to embed D&I practice across all areas of work and to champion this agenda in the organisation.

HR policy and process developments: - In partnership with relevant HR work streams develop, implement, monitor and review processes and procedures, (including talent outreach, talent management, learning and development, Policy, Internal Grievances), that address UNOPS Diversity and Inclusion needs and promote gender equality.

Stakeholder management and regional support: - Proactively build relationships with leaders, stakeholders & colleagues across the organisation to drive high impact gender diversity and inclusion initiatives in-line with UNOPS vision and values. - Provide advice, guidance and support on Diversity and Inclusion issues to regional and country offices. - Partner with and support Country Offices with the implementation of the Regional and Country GD&I action plans and play an advocacy role for these changes. - Develop and implement support tools and mechanisms for diverse populations to establish effective support networks within the organization. - Create, build and sustain effective external working relationships and networks with key equality, Diversity and Inclusion partners and identify new partners to broaden networks. - Act as Secretariat and technical advisor for UNOPS Gender Diversity and Inclusion Advisory panel.

Capacity Building: - Develop internal campaigns to build capacity, raise awareness, influence leaders and personnel and embed Diversity and Inclusion across the organization. - Develop Diversity and Inclusion training curriculum in partnership with the Learning Team and other key stakeholders.

Research and analytics: - Provides inputs and recommendations on metrics for measuring the effectiveness of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and prepares periodic reports to senior management on the value of such initiatives. Provide recommendations and advice on how to improve the metrics. - Review and/or prepare diversity-related communications, reports and surveys. - Lead research, analysis and evaluation, and quantitative and qualitative research related to Gender, Diversity and Inclusion. Identify and implement modern systems and approaches to drive inclusion. - Serve as Subject Matter expert on Gender Diversity and Inclusion and stay ahead of trends and be proactive to engage new ideas to widen approaches. - Analyze people data from Diversity and Inclusion perspective and advise on appropriate responses to any identified issues.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education: - An Advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) preferably in Human Resources, Development Studies, Gender and / or Diversity Studies, Law, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or other related field. - A combination of Bachelor’s degree with additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirements outlined above.

Experience: - A minimum of 5 years experience in Human Resources, Project management, Policy development, Learning and Development and/or communications. - A minimum of 3 years experience working on Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, such as gender parity, diversity and inclusion in policy development, learning and development initiatives or similar areas. - Experience of working with Diversity and Inclusion in an international HR context, is highly desirable. - Previous experience working in an international environment is required. - Experience in facilitation and training delivery is an asset. - Experience working in the UN and/or with international organisations is an asset. - Strong experience in research and policy-level analysis is an asset. - Experience in global gender parity, diversity and/or inclusion communications is an asset.

Language Requirements: - Fluency in English is required. - Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is a distinct asset.
