You have:
- You have completed a bachelor's degree in HR, business or non-profit management, public administration, or related field.
- You have 3+ years of relevant professional experience, including working in Human Resources administrative role.
- Experience developing HR related new systems and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Experience in HRIS systems, preferably ADP.
- Demonstrated familiarity with labour laws of countries within the region.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
- Experience working within an international non-profit matrixed organization is desirable.
- You are proficient in written and spoken English.
- Existing work authorization is required for this position.
This is a hybrid position based in the WRI Africa office in Nairobi, Kenya. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission. WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

Job Highlight:
Reporting to the to the HR Manager for WRI Africa, you will help provide support to our staff located in Kenya as well as other countries in the region. You will be key to managing our HR process and ensuring the smooth functioning mainly in the Kenya office, providing additional support to other countries when needed. You will have the opportunity to solve complex problems and advise on internal processes. You will enable the delivery of our HR solutions and priorities using a data-driven approach. You will have the chance to collaborate across a global network and foster meaningful remote working relationships.
What will you do:
HR Administration (50%):
- Administer HR policies and processes, including staff onboarding, transfers, changes and terminations
- Process required documents through the HR system to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Generate local/regional employment contracts, contract extensions, offer letters and promotions letters
- Act as a liaison between the staff and medical providers and pension administrators and coordinate health insurance onboarding and offboarding for all staff
- Support relocation, immigration and other responsibilities related to staffing administration, including visa application processes
- Support administration related to leave management, maintenance of staff records, and compensation
- Maintain official staff personnel files and ensure the HRIS is updated
HR Policies and Procedures (20%):
- Support the development and communication of HR policies to employees while providing guidance and support with respect to all areas of HR, ensuring reliable access to up-to-date, relevant information, building cohesion between office locations
- Manage and document HR policies to ensure all employees can see the policies stored in one place
- Conduct audits of HR programs and processes and recommend improvements
- Support the performance review process
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding (20%):
- Lead the WRI Africa internship program
- Support the recruitment process, led by the Talent Acquisition team, by interviewing candidates, coordinating work sample exercises, and performing reference checks
- Provide support for employee transitions and transfers of existing staff to new positions within WRI
- Help conduct new employee orientation and train employees on HR policies and procedures
- Support remote and flexible work administration with Operations/Facilities or other teams
Employee Relations (10%):
- Facilitate a healthy employee relations environment by providing timely and accurate responses to employment related queries
- Provide guidance and assist in employee relations issues and concerns, including termination and off-boarding processes.
What will you need:
- Education: You have completed a bachelor's degree in HR, business or non-profit management, public administration, or related field with HR qualification at a diploma level or a professional HR qualification
- Experience: You have 3+ years of relevant professional experience, including working in Human Resources administrative role
- Experience developing HR related new systems and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Experience in HRIS systems, preferably ADP
- Demonstrated familiarity with labour laws of countries within the region
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)

- Languages: You are proficient in written and spoken English
