Job Description

Background:

More than 3.6 million people have fled across borders to seek safety in the 1stmonth since the escalation of conflict in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and over 6.5 million Ukrainians are reported to be displaced. As the vast majority of the displaced are women, girls, and boys, this could become the worst humanitarian crisis Europe has seen in decades. As of February 24th, the IRC has begun an emergency response, and have identified partner agencies in Ukraine and Poland to facilitate immediate assistance that can be used where it is the most needed. Simultaneously, the IRC is establishing operations across Ukraine and Poland to complement partner response services either in breadth or scale.

Job Overview

The Human Resources Officer will provide HR support to the IRC’s growing Poland office. This role reports into the HR Coordinator and collaborates closely with the HR Associate to build, improve and streamline important HR processes. Major Responsibilities

1. Under the direction of the HR Coordinator, work in the implementation of IRC’s Global HR Operating Policies and Procedures and ensure all HR activities are carried-out in adherence to these standards and in compliance with all labor laws

2. Oversee staff attendance, leaves, tracking sheets and prepare staff Payroll accordingly

3. Be responsible for staff recruitment process, contract creation, and exit process

4. Coordinate, conduct and track new employee orientation to ensure every new hire receives on-boarding, and foster a positive, inclusive work environment

5. Assist in building a strong performance management processes, ensuring all employees receive proper and meaningful feedback

6. Confidentially and securely maintain records of all HR information

7. Assist staff development through training and capacity building plans

8. Run and create an HR Monthly Report to capture relevant metrics

9. Any other tasks as requested by supervisor

Requirements

- University degree in a related field with minimum of two years’ experience with office administration. - Ability to work independently and part of a team. - Strong digital literacy and organizational skills. - Detail oriented and ability to multitask.

Languages Requirements: Proficiency in Polish and English. Ukrainian knowledge a plus.
