Background Information - PPG

The People and Performance Group (PPG) helps UNOPS empowering people, driving organisational excellence and managing change across the organisation in order to help UNOPS deliver on its strategic intent.

The People and Performance Group (PPG) is a strategic HR function for UNOPS, based in UNOPS headquarters in Copenhagen. We are focused on partnering with key stakeholders to shape the UNOPS HR strategy and building a workforce and culture that enables the organization to deliver on its strategy. PPG is also at the forefront of UNOPS HR transformation journey.

Functional Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the HR Specialist, Diversity and Inclusion, the Diversity and Inclusion Intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support the rollout and implementation of the Gender, Diversity & Inclusion workforce strategy;
  • Contribute to capacity building efforts on D&I and in particular Disability Inclusion, across the organization in 80+ countries;
  • Support the global dissemination and implementation of UNOPS Reasonable Accommodation policy to manage the inclusion of People with Disabilities throughout the Human Resources cycle. The objective of the policy is to provide equality of access to all candidates and to facilitate the advancement and retention of people with disabilities at UNOPS.
  • In collaboration with the Talent Outreach team, support the development of a framework to attract and recruit candidates from underrepresented groups.
  • Support the review of HR policies related to retention and career development to ensure the inclusion of people from underrepresented groups.
  • Work with the team to promote inclusive messaging and use of appropriate language.
  • Contribute to other projects in the People and Performance Group as required.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education requirements

Completion of secondary school or equivalent is required.

To be eligible for this particular internship with UNOPS, the candidate must preferably be studying towards a university degree in human resources, social justice, diversity and inclusion, social inclusion, disability inclusion, special education, inclusiveness, psychology, social pedagogy, social sciences or other relevant discipline, or have graduated with a relevant university degree in the past three years.

Language requirements

Written and oral proficiency in English is required.

Fluency in Spanish or French is an asset

Other requirements

While no prior work experience is required, some experience in human resources, social justice, diversity and inclusion, social inclusion, disability inclusion, special education, inclusiveness, psychology, social pedagogy, social sciences or other relevant areas is desired.
