Overall purpose of the role:

In the Asia region, DRC responds to the needs of displacement and conflicted affected populations in three countries currently with possibility of expansion in near future, with more than 1000 national and international DRC staff, operating within the region. The regional office is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh but with some regional positions based in other countries within the region or HQ. DRC Asia also hosts the Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) and Asia Displacement Solutions Platform (ADSP).

The Human Resources Assistant is new position created in regional office Asia to assist Regional HR Coordinator. The role support in recruitment, HR file organization, contract preparation and follow up, HR related tracker updates etc.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Compensations & Benefits

  • Ensure staff recruitment and contracting process is in line with DRC procedure and the local labour law
  • Update recruitment tracker
  • Send out job offers and process the paperwork for new hires
  • Send contract request or draft contract and/or contract extension

People Planning, Performance, Development and Well-being

  • Monitor and update staff leave balance
  • Ensure that all staff personnel records are properly maintained and regularly updated
  • Update and maintain staff list
  • Ensure that DRC internal documents are filled in correctly
  • Support in writing Terms of References for staff
  • Administrative tasks in relation to performance and development processes
  • Administrative tasks in relation staff development
  • Ensure compliance in Human Resources Administration Management to DRC Operations Handbook
  • Support people well-being initiatives
  • Support staff development activities including promoting the DRC Learning Catalogue.

Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)

  • Minimum 1 year of working experience with carrying out admin tasks
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree; Professional training in Human Resources Management
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Programmes (E.g. Excel, Word, SharePoint)
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
  • Basic understanding of local labour law

    Education: (include certificates, licenses etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or Social Science Degree specializing in Human Resources

    Languages****: (indicate fluency level)

  • English (Full professional proficiency)

  • Bengali (Full professional proficiency)
