Contract

This is a Consultancy contract. More about Consultancy contracts.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, commitment.

Purpose of Activity/Assignment

Support to review, curate and organize teacher training materials, as well as develop pathways for online teacher training on inclusive education.

Scope of Work

As part of the broader Ukraine response, UNICEF across RRO countries have supported the development of and implementation of various teacher training programmes to empower teachers and schools to address the complex needs of Ukrainian children and support their integration in the national education systems. At the beginning, these efforts were building on the programmes and experiences implemented by UNICEF across ECAR countries with long standing engagement in inclusive education.

To improve the effectiveness of teacher training and build capacity of teachers with new skills and competencies in emergency context, but also beyond, especially on new relevant topics, such as language development, mental health and psychosocial support and trauma-informed teaching, UNICEF ECARO is undertaking an initiative to consolidate and integrate these programmes into one single UNICEF ECAR repository on teacher training. The repository will be posted on the website and will be available for use more broadly. Furthermore, UNICEF ECARO will develop online teacher training that can be used by countries to inform their teacher training efforts at national, school and individual level. The process will involve close consultation with UNICEF Education teams across countries, including national partners to ensure relevance and considerations for contextualization.

The international consultant will work closely with the ECARO education team and in consultation with the UNICEF country education teams and the Learning Passport.
