Job Description Job Title: Health and Nutrition Officer Band/ Level / Grade: 8B Department: Health and Nutrition programs Location: Yemen / Hodeida with frequent visits for IRC supported field sites (70% of work time at the field)

Scope of Work: IRC is seeking a highly motivated person who will support the program team in day-to-day activities implementation which related to Health and Nutrition integrating program and ensure all activities are addressed on its time.

Job Summary The Health and Nutrition Officer will be directly responsible for the supervision of the health and Nutrition interventions in the field level, the postholder will be implementing the action plan and following up field staff, Preparing the Monthly and Timely reports to H&N manager, leading the technical staff with frequent visits to the field to ensure the quality of implementation of the health and nutrition services provided in the targeted health facilities in Hodeida Governorate. The postholder is also taking the responsibility for the coordination with authorities and key partners at the local level to ensure the smooth implementation of program activities of the IRC projects.

Working Relations: 1. Regular & open communication on day-to-day tasks with HN manager, Senior field manager and technical managers. 2. Work internally with: Health & Nutrition program team, Program quality and support teams. 3. Work externally with HWs, HFs manager, DHO manager and GHO officials.

Responsibilities: - Provide the Technical Support and Management for Technical Nutrition and health staff in the targeted HFs and Follow up the attendance of every day. - Coordinate with relevant government and local authorities at field level. - Support and coordinate the day-to-day implementation of all activities at field and submit all the weekly, monthly and achievement reports documented with pictures and case studies to the line manager on time. - Handle all the problems that the teams will face in the field. - Continues communication with the management to keep them informed on any new update. - Prepare a weekly and monthly action plans and submit it to line Manager. - Support logistical and financial departments in providing the needed documents in order to facilitate procurement and payments. - Work with program team to accomplish the tasks in a timely and productive manner. - Coordinate and arrange for the all-training courses, orientations, briefs and inductions in the program. - leads the disbursement of cash assistance expenses for referred cases. - Coordinate the delivery of the basic program supported items to the health centers. - Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Requirements (Qualifications, Skills and Abilities) Essential: - University degree in medicine, Health or nutrition related qualifications with previous experience in the health & nutrition activities implementation for at least four years preferred INGO. - Excellent interpersonal and representative skills (written, oral, cross – cultural) - Good knowledge about key donor regulations and report writing skills. - Have a training on IMCI, CMAM, IYCF and other health or/and nutrition practical trainings and sound knowledge on MOPHP, national and international protocols and guidelines. - Ability to take initiative where appropriate to handle the difficulties encountered in daily work and Ability to conduct work in a professional and wise manner. - Competency in English language and Microsoft software skills.
