The IRC Yemen Country program has been established in 2012, and currently is implementing integrated Health, Nutrition, Environmental Health (WASH), Economic Recovery and Development, Women Protection and Empowerment and Education programs in eight governorates. The IRC Yemen Country Program has offices Aden and Sana’a. Other subfield offices include Abyan, Hodeida and Al Dhale, with the Al Dhale office covering Lahaj, and the Abyan office covering activities in Shabwa.

Job Overview/Summary:

Under the supervision of IRC Yemen’s Health and Nutrition Coordinators, the Health and Nutrition Manager will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of program activities Al Hodeida. The health and Nutrition Manager will be based in Hodeida and will need to undertake frequent visits to the field .

Major Responsibilities:

· Participate/Lead in the needs assessments, project proposals for health and nutrition.

· Leading budget, activity forecasting, expenditure monitoring and collaborating learning and adapting meetings for improved program and project efficiency.

· Participate in the recruitment of staff for the Projects following Yemen IRC Policies and Procedures.

· Ensure/facilitate the ongoing capacity building of national health and Nutrition staff, supportive supervision and undertake staff performance evaluations and individual development plans.

· Ensure that the health and Nutrition program applies standardized protocols, policies, and guidelines, as prescribed by the Ministry of Health and WHO/UNICEF and IRC standard methodologies.

· Coordinate the collection and timely reporting of data and statistics accordingly with the project in line with national, internal, and donor requirements.

· Ensure appropriate follow-up and decision-making on data relevant to the project activities.

· Collaborate with other sectors to ensure a broad approach in line with IRC’s Program Framework principles and IRC Yemen coordinated program.

· Represent IRC to Subnational, Clusters, UN, international and national NGOs, and Ministry of Public Health and Population (MOPHP) on forums.

· Coordinate implementation of grants and management of budgets, including budget forecasting, development of spending plans, reviewing BvA, and provide suggestions for necessary adjustment as needed.

· Ensure/facilitate the ongoing capacity building of national health and Nutrition staff, supervision and undertake staff performance evaluations and individual development plans.

· Ensure appropriate Staff support and mentorship through regular field visits.

· Collaborate with other sectors to ensure a broad approach in line with IRC’s Program Framework principles and IRC Yemen coordinated program.

· Ensure good coordination with other departments

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

- At least a bachelor’s / Master’s degree in medicine or public health - 3 years or less experience in humanitarian work in the management of health and Nutrition programs. - Experience in staff management and developing staff capacity. - Ability to write clear and concise reports to meet required reporting deadlines. - Able to work independently while being a great teammate. - Competence with Windows, Microsoft Office - Proficient in the English language (written and spoken) and in Arabic language (written and spoken) is required.
