Job Description Job Title: Health and Nutrition Data management Officer Band/ Level / Grade: 8B Department: Health and Nutrition programs Location: Yemen / Hodeida with frequent visits to IRC-supporting field sites (70% of work time)

Scope of Work: IRC is seeking a highly motivated, professional person to support the health & nutrition team in day-to-day data management related activities at the field levels.

Job Summary Under the direct supervision of HN Manager, the DMO will accountable for collecting statistical data from the static IRC-supporting HFs and community nutrition & Health program, and generating periodic weekly and monthly reports and as needed statistical reports for program follow up and supervision purposes. The position holder will take part in the data auditing and verification activities to coordinate the delivery of high-quality services. The DMO is expected to update the health/nutrition clusters reporting tools as well as DHIS2 and HMIS information management systems on regular basis.

Working Relations: - Regular & open communication on day-to-day tasks with HN manager, Senior field manager and technical managers. - Work internally with: Program team, Program quality team and support team. - Work externally with: HWs, CHV, HFs manager, DHO manager and GHO officials

Responsibilities: - Overall responsible for the data collection, entering, filling, compilation, interpreting, analysis, summarizing and reporting of health & nutrition programme data from all supporting HFs and community-based programming and giving feedback to program team and health workers when needed. - Make sure that all data related to indicators for all respective health & nutrition program grants is configured appropriately into agreed IM systems. - Ensure that all IRC supporting health care facilities have equipped with data collection, reporting and recording tools and used effectively and appropriately. - Assist program management team in preparing timely reports on project progress and updating the program databases accordingly. - Undertake training and follow-up mentoring to health facility cadre to improve the timely collection process of high quality data in all HFs. - Provide refresher trainings to program staff and local health staff on data management systems and reporting tools. - Conduct weekly data validity and accuracy audits visits with program officers to the supporting field sites for review of registers and forms to ensure reliable, accurate and consistent, timely quality data incorporated into the system and provide appropriate feedback on how this correlates with information/data generated and address the gaps. - Regular desk Review of records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations and safeguard the data for control quality management efforts. - Actively participating in any Data and information management meetings, forums, trainings and events and share the knowledge for improvement efforts. - With HN manager's support, leading the monthly program data review meetings with program team to discuss the project performance and alternative option to fill out the gaps. - Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to monitor the program performance - Actively contributing in the development of tools and guidelines for data collection, collation, and reporting. - Maintaining an effective documentation system for all program activities, products, meetings, events, assessments, reviews and evaluations. - Carry out any other activities deemed appropriately by the supervisor and support the program team when needed.

Qualifications

Requirements (Qualifications, Skills and Abilities) Essential - Have bachelor’s degree in information MS, IT with confirmed experience in similar roles for two years at minimum or having university degree in relevant qualifications with 3years experiences or more in similar with NGOs. - Must have the ability to analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative program data. - Must possess high level of integrity, excellent planning, and communications skills and works effectively with team members in diverse environment and relates with people from different cultural backgrounds. - Shown proficiency in English language, computer applications such as; SPSS, KOBO, EPI Info, Commcare, advanced excel, word processing, spreadsheet, Power PI. - Have valuable knowledge and skills on health/nutrition IM systems (DHIS2, HMIS and Health/nutrition reporting tools) - An excellent Data analysis and report writing skills

Desirable: - Having training in health & nutrition information systems and data collection methods will be advantage. - Flexibility and adaptability to work under pressure and in constantly evolving work environments. - Fits to work most of time in the field level and able to work with minimal supervision. - Accountable, punctual, Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated good organization, planning, and analytic, systematic-thinking, and problem-solving including prioritizing work, multi-tasking and attention to detail.
