We are looking for an experienced and visionary international HR leader to join one of the world's best INGOs to spearhead our people-centered strategy across our global operations. You will join the HR Management Team and shape the long-term direction of our global community of 150 HR colleagues who provide professional support and advise to more than 8000 employees across 40 countries.

Who are we?

The Global HR Department is based in HQ in Copenhagen and consists of 4 teams: 1) HR Operations & Analytics, 2) HR HQ & Denmark, 3) People Development & Engagement and 4) International HR Partnering & Recruitment. You will manage the International HR Partnering & Recruitment team, which includes 7 dedicated HR professionals focusing primarily on global policy development, HR partnering to Regional and Country Directors, recruitment of senior roles in our international operations and HR legal matters globally.

About the job

As Head of International HR Partnering & Recruitment, you will contribute to DRC’s overall global people agenda together with competent and passionate colleagues across HQ, regional offices and country operations. You will promote our people-centered vision, ensuring that the actions and decisions by leaders, employees and HR on people matters, contribute to a DRC even better equipped to assist and protect refugees and the displaced.

As Head of International HR Partnering & Recruitment team, you will:

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of HR policies, initiatives and practices that support our ambition to be a truly global organization in line with our strategy, strong values, vision and culture
  • Join the HR Management Team and head the Global HR Advisory Group (Regional HR managers covering all international operations)
  • Advocate for and, when necessary, adapt the long-term vision and agenda for HR so that it supports DRC’s strategic objectives
  • Be attuned to and react to global trends and risks by ensuring a fit-for-future global HR function and service-catalogue
  • Forge strong and trust-based partnerships within the organization, ensuring that HR delivers value to our clients through high-quality service and evidence-backed insight & advise
  • Lead, coach and continuously develop a committed team of 7 HR professionals

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a leader in an HR function, of which at least 3 years within a multinational organization (preferably within the humanitarian sector).
  • In-depth understanding of the full HR remit - in particular strategy and organizational design, policy development, HR business partnering, senior-level recruitment, compensation and benefits and legal case handling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills and a strong ability to collaborate and forge partnerships across different levels, both within and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to establish a coherent long-term vision for HR – as well as demonstrated successful execution of strategy and strategic planning, organizational design and development.
  • Proven experience in leading large, complex and or transformational initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication skills in English. Danish, French, Spanish and/or Arabic would be an advantage.

  • Contract length: Permanent contract
  • Workplace: Borgergade 10, Copenhagen, Denmark.
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Employment conditions: Regulated by The Danish Employee Act and Lederaftalen (agreement for leaders) between Dansk Arbejdsgiverforening (Danish Employer’s Association) and Lederne (Leaders’ Union). This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
