ABOUT WFP

The United Nations World Food Programme is the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. We are saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.

WFP’s emergency response in Yemen is one of the agency’s largest anywhere in the world. As of Q3 2023, WFP delivered vital food assistance to 13.2 million people in need, provided nutrition support to 2.9 million children and women, and also contributed to education through its school feeding programme reaching 2 million schoolchildren.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

To assist the most vulnerable beneficiaries, the Yemen Country Office and the local authorities Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA) reached an agreement to conduct the targeting and registration exercise in three districts under the jurisdiction of the Sana'a-based authorities in North Yemen. After the successful rollout of the pilot exercise in North Yemen, it is now evident that WFP could carry out the exercise across North Yemen.

Managing the data received from cooperating partners and ensuring it meets WFP standards is now critical, as WFP is in line with the authorities to carry out the targeting and registration exercise across the country. This entails the selection of the correct beneficiaries to receive assistance and ensuring the needs of the country office beneficiary identity and transfer management implementation are fulfilled and performed correctly, which would necessitate specific knowledge and awareness of the business process flow.
