ABOUT THE JOB

The (Guard) is responsible for safety of the facility during his/her duty time and ensures compliance with DRC Safety Rules. Furthermore, the (Guard), while cooperating with other staff, is expected to watch over the security and safety of the premises and staff, and properties.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the access control, checking of vehicles and personnel entering the facility
• Immediately report any suspicious activity related to security to relevant section
• Conducts thorough vehicle and personnel searches to secure the facility from weapons, explosives, contraband, and other threats
• Register guests and visitors entering the facility
• Ensure that no unauthorized personnel enter the premises without prior permission
• Foot patrol in assigned areas and take necessary action to investigate suspicious items or persons
• Use security equipment installed in the facility
• Monitor the entrance and authorize entries and departure of residents, employees, visitors, etc.
• Turn on and turn off the lamp according to schedule

• Give attention to people with unusual movements outside facility
• Guard against theft and maintain access security
• Report incident using the required incident report format
• Operate and fuel the generator
• Assist guests who require directions or information, and escort guests to the appropriate location
• Make sure doors and windows of buildings are locked after staff have left the facility
• Never leave duty during work hours unless authorized
• Start or shut down the generator according to needs and schedule, ensuring supply and fill of petrol for the generator
• Conduct him/herself in a professional manner when dealing with residents, employees, visitors, etc.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Safety Officer

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

• The position requires at least two years’ work experience

Education/qualifications:

• Primary school
• Good physical condition
• Trustworthy
• Capacity to display judgment
• Observation capacity
• Ability to take instruction
• Self-control

Languages:

• Ability to read and write Dari/Pashtu with basics of English Language
