Overview

Provide technical assistance in developing e-learning content and maintaining online platforms.

You have:

  • Equivalent to the first level of university degree related to ICT, digital design or related field.
  • Experience in web design, content editing, multimedia material editing through relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of information and communication technology as well as strong skills in website and graphic designing, multimedia production, design thinking and digital publishing.
  • Fluent in English.

Result of Service a. Provide technical assistance in developing and upgrading e-learning contents by using relevant delivery technologies, such as interactive motion contents, videos, text-based documents, etc.

b. Assist the operation of the APCICT Virtual Academy, the Centre’s distance learning platform (https://e-learning.unapcict.org/), including but not limited to its regular maintenance, customization, localization, responding to user queries, and further enhancement, as necessary.

c. Assist the technical maintenance and operation of APCICT’s main website (http://www.unapcict.org), including but not limited to its troubleshooting, design upgrades, and further enhancement, as necessary.

d. Prepare various written outputs, e.g. reports, analysis, and other inputs, upon request of the programme officers and other supervisors.

e. Undertake any other function, assignments and responsibilities that may be assigned by the programme officer and other supervisors.

How are the outputs to be delivered? Outputs will be generated via series of e-mails, and face-to-face meetings and submitted via electronic submission. The Individual Contractor will be stationed in APCICT in Incheon and is expected to submit the outputs in accordance with the list of deliverables indicated above.

Duties and Responsibilities The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT), a regional institute of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), was established on 16 June 2006 in Incheon, Republic of Korea with a mandate to strengthen the human and institutional capacities of the member and associate member States in the use of ICT for achieving socio-economic development goals. To fulfill its mandate, APCICT focuses on three inter-related pillars: Training, Advisory Services, and Multi-stakeholder partnership.

To extend the reach of its training programmes, the Centre also maintains the APCICT Virtual Academy (http://e-learning.unapcict.org), an online distance learning platform, which offers self-paced courses based on the Academy, Primer Series, and WIFI modules.

APCICT would like to engage a qualified person who will support the maintenance of smooth operation of APCICT’s online platforms of the Centre through: - Develop new e-learning course materials, upgrade of the existing materials, and enhance user interface in accordance to the agreed course delivery technologies and practices - Maintain and enhance LMS (Learning Management Platform) as necessary in collaboration with OICT (Office of Information and Communication Technology) - Maintain, update, and enhance contents of APCICT website (http://www.unapcict.org/) and online knowledge sharing platform – ICTD InfoBank (http://www.unapcict.org/resources/ictd-infobank)

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Equivalent to the first level of university degree related to ICT, digital design or related field. Experience: Experience in web design, content editing, multimedia material editing through relevant software applications. Knowledge of information and communication technology as well as strong skills in website and graphic designing, multimedia production, design thinking and digital publishing. Language: Fluent in English.
