Jordan hosts the second most refugees per capita in the world. At the end of 2021, Jordan provided refuge to more than 760,000 refugees registered with UNHCR, predominantly from Syria, with large groups from Iraq, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia. Some 83% live outside of refugee camps. In addition to being the Refugee Agency, UNHCR Jordan seeks to actively coordinate all actors involved in the response. We work with 16 NGO and government partners. UNHCR maintains a robust presence in Jordan through four offices located in Amman, Mafraq, Azraq and Irbid, in addition to three urban registration centres in Amman, Irbid and Mafraq, and over 500 staff. UNHCR total financial requirements for 2022 is USD 408.4 million

Key priority areas include protection activities, access to documentation, legal assistance, cash assistance, access to healthcare and education, and community empowerment and outreach. In the two biggest camps of Zaatari and Azraq, UNHCR is leading a range of activities and services, including camp coordination, protection and outreach, community services, livelihoods, shelter, and energy

UNHCR Jordan has a dedicated External Relations Unit in Amman of six staff, plus staff working in Za’atari and Azraq Camps, who focus on developing communication materials, donor visibility, and relationships with a range of stakeholders. This assignment will support the External Relations Team under the supervision of the External Relations Officer to expand graphic design capacity and create infographics around the 11th anniversary of the Syrian crisis.

In March 2022, UNHCR Jordan will launch the results of the latest version of its Vulnerability Assessment Framework (VAF) Survey. This report is based on a survey of 6,500 refugee households in Jordan and updates a range of indicators about the conditions that refugees in Jordan currently find themselves in. UNHCR Jordan will use the survey to link into the 11th anniversary of the Syrian crisis. In order to present this vast amount of data in a clearly understandable way, to both Arabic and English-speaking audiences, UNHCR Jordan is seeking to produce a range of infographics and dashboards, as well as other communication materials, highlighting the key findings. Specific tasks will include: - Production of 10 in-depth infographics detailing the VAF key findings - Production of infographics for social media around Syria 11 - Support in producing and editing an animated video on VAF key findings - Assist in designing any other graphic design materials around the VAF Report and Syria 11
