Result of Service The main objective of the Graphic Designer assignment are the following duties: Upon completion of the assignment, the successful candidate will have gained:

- Design layout for the SCF Document in English and Arabic to be completed. - Design Knowledge Management products for the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. - Produce Common Country Analysis (CCA) infographics per Result Group priority areas. - Design the One UN Report for 2021. - Continue support to enhance layout of the United Nations Country Team social media platforms after verification. - Designs a variety of products, including presentations for the RCO, and graphics or infographics (gifs, cards, banners, etc.) for print publications and online channels. The expert may be required to provide various design options, to visualize UN RCO results and other data, which will then be applied across different products. - The consultant will need to adhere to the UN guidelines while delivering fresh, creative and innovative ideas to display concepts in simple yet striking graphics. - Creates graphically engaging materials to promote awareness on Sustainable Development Goals and the Kuwait-United Nations Strategic Cooperation Framework communication. - Present visual concepts and ideas in a compelling and attractive manner. - Participates in organizing graphic material (banners and flyers) for special events organized by the communication group including the UN Talks webinars. - Assists with data visualization through graphs and maps for promoting the work of Strategic Partnership Outcome Result Groups. - Designs posters, leaflets and brochures for outreach activities. - Content concept preparation for Web and Application design.

Duties and Responsibilities The Resident Coordinator (RC) system encompasses all organizations of the United Nations system dealing with operational activities for development, regardless of their formal presence in the country. The RC system in Kuwait aims to bring together the different UN agencies to contribute to the realization of New Kuwait Vision 2035 by aligning results to Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030 at the country level. The Resident Coordinator lead the UN country team and is the designated representatives of the Secretary-General for development operations. Working closely in partnership with Kuwait governments, the Resident Coordinator and country team advocate the interests and mandates of the UN drawing on the support and guidance of the entire UN family. The Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) provides the strategic directions to the Country Office (CO). The RCO interacts with many interlocutors in Kuwait and forge partnerships with the Government of Kuwait, represented through the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Planning and Development (GSSCPD), the line ministries and policy makers, all agencies within the UN System, donors, NGOs, Private Sector and Civil Society.

The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) includes 11 Resident UN organizations and 8 Non-Resident who are currently finalizing a multi-year framework, the Kuwait/ United Nations Strategic Cooperation Framework (UNDAF 2022-2025). The UN Resident Coordinator, as the designated representative of the UN Secretary-General, leads the UN System in Kuwait in its developmental work. The Office of the UN Resident Coordinator (RC Office) serves as the Secretariat to the UN System and, as such, supports UN inter-agency processes, including preparation and potential implementation of the UNDAF 2020-2023 strategies on joint communication, resource mobilization, and operational harmonization.

Under the overall guidance of the Resident Coordinator, the Graphic Design expert will work under the direct supervision of the Public Information Officer, in the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in the State of Kuwait. The integration of social media platforms, including social networking tools-such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube and Snapchat forms a critical component of the UNRCO in Kuwait communications strategy, in addition to producing the advocacy for the UNSCF.

a) The expert will report to UN RCO Public Information Officer b) The expert will be working remotely in agreed upon working hours. c) It is sole responsibility of the expert to make sure to submit all deliverables on time. Given reports (draft and interim) will serve as justification of payment. d) The expert will secure access to internet and other office resources and equipment at all times

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or higher in graphic design, ICT, web development, app development, media studies, filmmaking or related field. Experience: 1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in graphic design 2. Excellent command of MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel or similar and potentially other presentation applications 3. Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator 4. Excellent design skills, including typography, layout, color, user interface and navigation 5. Strong knowledge of photography and image editing 6. Proven experience in data visualization 7. Ability to deliver timely and high quality results under tight deadlines Language: Fluency in English and Arabic languages required (writing, speaking, reading). Demonstrated writing skills and ability to produce high quality product in English and Arabic
